Ten day myw tickets and adding days?

We have a pretty long stay coming up (in late january next year, still way to long to go) with a room only booking for one night first and then a 14 night stay with a ten day park hopper and water park, fun and more ticket. Atleast that is the plan so far.

We will probably stay at the same resort for both bookings for the ease of it and will probably have dining plan for the same reason. So in theory we have 16 days we could possibly spend some time in the parks on. I know about the 14 day expiration rule and I can bend my head around how to work that to our advantage but I'm thinking about adding some more days, perhaps by buying tickets from undercover tourist and can't for the life of me figure out if it's a good or bad idea.

Would it somehow mess up my other tickets if I added them to my MB? Or would them perhaps cancel out my waterpark entries if I had used up all my park days? Am I better off not buying tickets beforehand and rather doing it onsite? All help is apreciated

You might be better off buying an annual pass .

Ticketwise yes but as I understand we can't get the diningplan with the annual pass and on previous trips having the diningplan have made it so that I don't have to worry about costs and splurge and I love that feeling. It's a must for me.

Another option is to spend a relaxing day at the resort/pool every few days to get re-energized, etc.

Since you have WPFM option, go to water parks/DisneyQuest on some days instead of major parks. Unless you plan on going to a water park and a major park on the SAME day, you don't need extra days on your tickets.

Or go to Universal for a few days or Sea World, or even just a day of shopping at DTD, i-drive, etc.

Or resort hop... Boardwalk, Yeehaw Bob at POR, unique TS restaurants, etc.

If you really want to be in parks EVERY day you're there, then I respect that. But, personally, I never purchase "length of stay" tickets. We usually spend at least 25% of our days doing other things and we love doing that. YMMV.

I don't mean any of this in a snarky way (some threads suggesting Universal, relaxing, etc. tend to get that way). This is just what works for us to make an enjoyable vacation.

Dont worry, didnt see it as snarky. Was thinking about adding two or three more days based on experiences from last time where I wished for more park time. And have a week for universal/seaworld/shopping at the end of our vacation so got that covered. It's a long flight so thought why not make it a long trip will be staying four weeks altogheter in florida

You can still get the dining plan if you upgrade to an annual pass once you are there. So you go with the 10 day MYW package and at some point during your trip, you upgrade to an annual pass. You just pay the difference in price. I'm not sure if it is worth it price wise for you, but it may be something to look into.

Another thing I just thought of, are you sure you want the waterpark option in January? The weather may be kind of cool. Your choice of course.
I mention it because if you did upgrade to an AP, you would automatically get the park hopper option.

Book your package and then upgrade to an AP when you arrive. Then you have your dining plan and extra days of tickets.

You can't add extra days to a 10-day MYW ticket since 10 is the maximum so your only option would be to buy additional tickets, which doesn't make sense since you pay more per day for tickets with fewer days.

I might be wrong but I believe, as a European, you should be eligible to buy the 14-day Ultimate ticket available to UK residents. If so, that would probably be your best option as it includes water parks, etc and allows you to hop. You can purchase it from www.disneyworld.co.uk

My understanding is that the 14-day ticket can actually be used on 15 consecutive days (as long as one of those days you don't actually enter one of the four main parks) so that would only leave you with one day where you couldn't do a park.

We are north Norwegians, as long as the temps are over 70 we are good to go and thinks it's positivly steaming hot so will make loose day plans. And besides, the water are heated to atleast tolerable so I think it will be fine. And we also really loved disneyquest so if it gets too cold even for us we will go there.

Have narrowed my thoughts to maybe a day extstra but upgrading once we get there is also something I will think about and price out. Have only had annual passes to Disneyland Paris before and those rules on upgrading are weeeery different so will do some researh now.

You might want to check on that since we have a lot of posters over on the UK boards who are from Europe (France, Germany etc.) who regularly buy and use the 14-day tickets.

Might be worth asking over there if you're interested.

If you want to upgrade to an AP and you use any of your WP&M options, you'll have to upgrade to a Premium AP.

Yup, checked. Looks like I can buy the tickets but due to a high exchange rate on the pound and low on the dollar (or vica verca, either way I meen I get more for the Dollar than the Pound) buying through the us site works out alot cheaper for my Norwegain krone. Phew, who knew planning a holiday could be so much math and work

If I get a good room only deal with the new dinning plan on room only though it might be a good idea.
