I found the same thing. I took it a step further, and there are only 2 Tempstar dealers in my county. Neither of them are Carrier dealers though. And there are well over 150 licensed HVAC companies in my county.
The dealer I use is a Trane, American Standard and Carrier dealer. Yes, Trane and American Standard are the same product. I'm sure any dealer can fix them, but if you need a repair during the 10 year warranty period, there are only 2 options that are authorized service centers.
