Does anyone know how often or how long you can use the temporary AP ticket before you must exchange it for the full AP?

I'd like to pick the 'best' time to exchange them, and not feel forced to queue with two impatient three year olds if the Passport Office is busy.

I know lots of people say it takes a short time, but the first time we got APs we were in there for at least an hour and there were only two people in front of us.

you have to change it the same day you get it, but as far as I'm aware its a park hopper ticket you get as a temporary AP, so in theory you could use that to enter both parks before you exchange it for the full AP the same day.

have you had APs in the last 2 years lojo? If you have, it won't take as long this time, as all your details will still be on their AP database. It literally took 5 minutes for me to get mine last time, compared with a lot longer the first time we ever got APs.

Hi Elaine

We got the temporary APs from the French website ce multiavantages - they are like normal park hoppers but have details referencing the company, date of validity and the fact that they are temporary aps.

Three of us have had APs for a couple of recent years, but three are complete newbies (in every way). That's why I'm worried about the time, not to mention the fact that even when we were getting the second year's APs they took ages double checking our address etc etc - maybe we just look shifty!

I'm also aware that going in August, we'll be facing possibly the busiest time of year (and those other experiences were in relatively quiet seasons).

Maybe we'll do it in shifts......

doing it in shifts is probably a good idea - is the AP office in the Studios (next to the Blockbuster Cafe) still open for business? That might be a quieter option.

Seems to be on and off but I would have thought in August all 3 would have been open as there are a lot of AP's to be done this year again what with the free (or as good as) ones offered here in France :)

Also (just remembered) when we went to renew ours in April they had set up 2 different lines in the AP bureau, one for those who were there to renew and one for those who had a special e-ticket offer and they were doing them on screens before hand.
We wizzed through and were out with new AP's within 10 minutes.:goodvibes

All good to know. Thanks.

So when is a renewal a renewal - mine expired at the end of April and we're going mid-August?

I'll probably spend half the first day doing reconnaissance - and then still end up in the wrong queue!

We exchanged ours in the studios near Blockbuster cafe (having been in the main park for most of the day) - no queue at all just before closing!

You just have to exchange on the day of purchase, but can come in and out of the parkswith the temp pass
