I just had a temperpedic mattress delivered along with a mattress pad. The store suggested the pad and I agreed as I have always used one in the past. I just read the directions that came with the bed and it says do not use any type of protector with it because it will interfere with the pressure relieving effect.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
TIA :confused3

we have the temperpedic mattress and LOVE it!!! it is amazing the difference seriously!! I love their pillows too! the protection does effect the pressure relieving effect. its like your body weight sinks perfectly how it is supposed to for you to get the best nights sleep. takes the pressure off. My dh has terrible problems w/his back, nerve damage w/arm and leg and would get up a lot in the night. he sleeps a lot better now and if he does get up at 4 or so, I never feel him. I sleep a lot better too. I never feel him in the bed at all, no turning etc. It is wonderful!!

We have a tempurpedic mattress, too. No-no mattress cover, just the sheet directly over the mattress (seems strange). I also wanted to warn you-when we first got the bed home, we actually didn't like it all that much. It just felt a little weird. If that happens to you-keep at it. Now I really like it alot.

Thank you both for your replys. I will bring back the pad, 70.00 back to me, that's a good thing.
I have heard that it may take some getting used to. The store where we bought it has a 60 day try out period but will not take it back before we have used it for 30 days because they say to give it at least that amount of time to get used to.
My husband has neck and back pain every morning which is why we bought this. I am so glad to hear some positive feedback because these things are in no way cheap!!!!!!!!

That is why I bought the pillows to start. I would wake up w/stiff necks, lots of headaches, lower back pain...now I sleep so much better. No stiff necks, no back pain and don't wake up w/headaches. DH tried the knock off pillows, NOT near the same!!

since we bought our mattress, our neighbor went and bought one, so did dh's parents.

I don't sink down that far so rolling over isn't a problem. I roll over a lot but it is a great mattress. I think it took about a week to get use to it. I love it now.

Well our first night in it wasn't so bad. It will take some getting used to. We both had no problem rolling over and you don't "sink" in as much as some may think. Although I am sure the bed will lose some of it's stiffness as time goes by. It came with two temperpedic pillows which I could not stand. They are just way too hard for me. My husband has been sleeping with a temperpedic pillow for quite a while now and loves it. Everyone is different. I ended up getting up in the middle of the night and getting my old trusty comfy soft ones. :cloud9:
I already took the sheets off to let the bed air out, boy does this thing stink.
My husbands pillow took about a week to stop stinking so I will just have to deal with it for a bit. I will be waking up with a dry mouth every morning because I will NOT be breathing through my nose while in bed this week. It IS that bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:
I really hope this helps with his backaches, neckaches, headaches, you get the picture. The concensus seems to be that it will. And if it does then it will be so worth the cost. :worship: If not, can we say ouch 1000 times. :scared1:
