Another stupid question from me . . .

Are the pools refreshing after a long hot day in the summer sun? Or will it be like bathing in luke warm bath water?

I've found the water to get like bath water during the summer. It really doesn't feel good at all on a hot day. :(

Geeze, that's not the answer I wanted to hear:(

I was hoping maybe WDW had this secret cooling process when the temp of the pool reached a certain degree, the cooling system would kick in and keep the water nice and refreshing.

Ok, so I'm naive:p

Sorry to tell you, I was just there and the pool was not even refreshing! It was cooler in the air conditioned room.

All of the resort pools that I have been in have been very refreshing after a long day in the parks.

Maybe you would prefer an evening swim, particularly after sunset. The air would be slightly cooler and maybe the water would be, too (I'm sure that is a stretch!).

Depends on the pool! OKW is almost always on the cool side, AK was the warmest we were ever in! (Not refreshing, but certainly enjoyable!) I have never found a resort pool to be "too warm", even in 90+ temps in August!

We've had large swings in our wdw stay's too:

YC: (July) hotter than my bathtub BC: side seemed cooler
CR: Nice
Poly: Nice
GF: Old pool ok, & new pool frozen
CBR, DXL, BWV: Were all ok
WL: the temperature was ok, but the current jets we didn't care for, not really good swimmers.

People have complained that the grotto pool at the Swan/Dolphin is COLD - so maybe it's just right in the summer! :D

The GF pool was so cold I had a hard time staying in it for more than a few minutes when we stayed there on our honeymoon (Sept '00). The weather was hot, the evenings were very warm, and we would go to the pool after a long day roaming the parks. We ended up spending most of our "pool time" in the hot tub because the pool was so cold.
