Hi there,

I'm looking at going somewhere warm over MLK weekend and was wondering how the temps usually are around that time. Google tells me the its 80 degrees there today which is great. Is that normal or is that a "hot spell". Considering I'm from Chicago I'm guessing it will be warmer than there, but I'm looking for some pool time if possible.

Thanks for any thoughts

I guess it will be a matter of luck. We were there at the beginning of February last year and it was cold (around 15*C) and rainy the entire time. There was so much rain that the water started to come in through the balcony door and the carpet was soaking wet in this area (wonder about the quality of their windows...). We met a man who was spending the 20th winter in a row in Florida and he told us that this was the worst he's ever experienced. I remember other winter vacations in Florida where it was hot enough to lay at the pool, so there's a wide range of possible temperatures at this time of the year.

I've experienced all kinds of temps at VP in January. I do know that last January 2-3 I was swimming in the pool with my DGC!

January is the coldest month in central Florida. It could certainly be hot, but I wouldn't plan on it even being warm.
