Just wondering. I like to sleep in a pretty cool room. Does air conditioner keep the room fairly cool?

Thanks

Funny story. I was a touch warm at bed time the first time/night on the Fantasy. I turn the dial about 3/4 of an inch lower, went back to bed. Woke up 2-3 hours later frozen. I swear ice chips were falling from the vents in the ceiling. :lmao:
Point is, it's touchy IME, be careful.

It may work hard in the daytime during summer in the Caribbean, but at night watch out. It could turn into a scene from Frozen, quickly.
It was also almost totally silent IME.

I believe you will be satisfied with the cabin HVAC system aboard the Fantasy. ;)

On some of the cruises I have been on, my stateroom attendant would reset the temperature gauge each time he was in the room cleaning or straightening up. I like my room colder than most people and did not like getting back to my room and the room being warmer than I prefer. But, I figured he is probably instructed to do this to save money. I could have talked to him and asked him to not do this but I did not want to put him in the awkward position of trying to please me and not going against any rules he has to follow. Other than that fact, he was an excellent stateroom attendant. This did not happen on every cruise I have been on, only a few. I just got used to resetting the dial when I reentered the room if it was too hot. It did not take too long to cool off after I reset it, so that was a plus.

Thanks so much! Glad to know I will be comfortable. I have trouble sleeping when I am too hot!

We usually keep our house 60 degrees overnight during the winter & summer. We always feel that the cabins on Fantasy are a bit warmer than we would like even with the dial all the way down. There have been a few nights where it has been pretty yucky, but overall just a bit warmer than I would have likfe. I have noticed on several ships, Fantasy included, that balcony and/or rooms with large windows tend to be a bit warmer than inside rooms when traveling in hot climates. We keep our blinds closed most of the time as well as the door closed to try and minimize this.

We were on the Fantasy in September. Our stateroom had two temperatures - hot and FROZEN! We never could find a happy medium. I ended up going down to the gift shop to buy a sweatshirt and thick yoga pants because I didn't have anything warm to wear when just hanging out in the room. Even my hubby who likes to sleep in a very cool room thought it was too cold a lot of the time. But if you left the AC off the room was stuffy and warm :confused3

Like a pp, we prefer the room very cold. We just got off FANTASY, had an aft verandah, it did fluctuate widely, even though we kept the dial set at max cold. You can ask your stateroom host to have maintainence do an adjustment. There used to be "override" codes posted here to do it yourself, but it was for the thermostats on MAGIC and WONDER, which were a different type. Also, remember to bring a worthless magstripe card, like a hotel room card, to leave in the slot inside your cabin to retain your settings. I think the stateoom hosts are told to lift them up to deactivate them, but we just politely ask that it be left alone.
