I know the water is heated. We will be there this Sun - Thurs. Will Hi 70/ 50 overnight be miserable at Volcano Bay? I was really hoping to be able to check out out!

Follow up question- do they do anything to "chill" the water in the extreme summer heat? Nothing like stepping into a pool that's near 90 degrees on a 100 degree day? Thinking that they don't but figured I'd ask.

Hi when I was there in July last year the water did not have to be "chilled". VB does not keep the water that warm and especially the wave pool was very cool with a low temp. The ride pools at the end were very comfortable. I only remember the fearless river being a little warmer than the others. You will not have 90 degree water there.

That's great, thank you. I know that where I am on Long Island in the heat of the summer my pool hits 84 to 86 degrees with constant sun. Obviously, the volume of water is somewhat greater at VB. 74 degree water temp on a really hot and humid day can't be beat.

The water is very agreeable on cool days, to answer the OP's question. The real issue is when you get out of the water, especially if there is any wind. That's the less fun part, if it's a cool day. Still totally manageable and doable. But, it will be a point to complain about if you have any delicate flowers in your group.

We went last September and the wave pool was way too cold for my liking. Honestly felt like it was purposefully chilled, cuz it had to be pushing high 60's.

I think it needs to be in the 80's to be comfortable (and I'm from Buffalo, NY). Otherwise, I'm pretty cold getting out of the water and at a water park, you're constantly getting in and out of the water.
Also, do you have a one day ticket? We have AP's so I wouldn't mind going on a cool day for a little while.

I have been there when in the high 90s and the water was always perfect.

Love Volcano Bay. Wonderful park.

We were there last weekend. The temp on Saturday morning was 62 F. We got there at 8:45 for the 9:00 early entry for hotel guests, and there were about 4 families waiting. We had the park to ourselves all morning. All rides were ride now! The water was warm, out of the water was very chilly but we warmed up quickly in the sun. It was about 70 F when we left at noon. Sunday morning, we did theme parks until lunch and then went to VB, it was about 70 F and we were fine. Again, the two rivers and the wave pool were warm, standing in line for slides was the worst, since it was windy. I'd say go for it, be prepared to bundle up in towels when you are out, but we are very glad we went! My kids had the run of the place, they will be in for a shock our next trip when they have to tap into slides!

We changed VB to our 1st day this past Sun (best temps of our visit). It was 60s in the morning and got to about 74.

With the heated water we were quite comfortable and were not even bothered that much between rides.

There were no lines from 8- about 11 am! The sun really came out. The tapu system worked well for us (and we had rode a LOT of rides before it got busy sobwe were ready for pool time anyway)

So I'd say morning temps in 60s is doable for most. It was 45 this am. We were fine at IOA in hoodies, but VB would have been a no go!!
