We are planning a short trip in either December or February....I have never been to DW in those months....we usually go in late August to early September so we are use to the heat and humidity. My question is, what would be the better month to go? We want to go in a warmer month to get away from the winter weather in PA!

Thanks for all your help....

Travis

I can't comment on December, but when we went in Feb. 2003 it was in the mid-upper 80s during the day and upper 50s at night. I don't know if that is typical or not though.

December can be one of those iffy months. The temps can range from the 80's to the 40's. December is a much better month to travel in...there will be no humidity. Being that you are from up north, you would be able to swim...us South Floridians usually think it is too cold to swim in December. The norm for that time of year is usually in the 70's for the day....but you shouldn't count on it...be prepared for anything.

You'll be in for a pleasant change. These are great times of year to go temperature wise. I REALLY prefer WDW when it's a bit on the cooler side, much more comfortable. I lean toward December because of all of the holiday decorations and festivities and early in the month the crowds are still low. WDW doesn't get any more magical than it does around holiday time!

Being an experienced early Dec and early Feb visitor the weather can be quite fickle. We've experienced rain in Dec when a cold front came through. We went to MK on a Friday and I have to say it really felt like the holidays..it was nippy!! and dreary and drizzly, as yucky as that sounds it was fun buying a Minnie Santa hat to cover my "freezing" ears and then to get hot chocolate at the PLAZA in MK. That night we went to see the Osbournes and with the fake snow it really was perfect. (luckily we had some heavy outerwear). It only lasted a day, the next day it was sunny and in the low 70s.

February has been almost perfect. Both years we went not a drop of rain, 70s and sunny but still cool at night (40s and 50s), however our last day this past Feb. there were windchills in the 30s during the day!! I had my gloves and scarf and couldn't believe I was wearing them during the day! But, that was just the one day!

Both December and February can be iffy. We're from Massachusetts so we think it's great down there no matter what the temp. I was there last December and we had 2 days with a high in the 50's and the low was in the low 40's but the rest of the week we were able to where shorts and t-shirts comfortably even at night. The same has been my experience in February. I remember one year wearing our winter coats from back home around the MK (lucky we had them) but then, 2 days later it was in the 80's.

This past January was not too bad, a high of 70 but very humid.
Feb 2002 was wonderful! high in the 60s, in the 40s at night. I loved it!

Florida weather is unpredictable. After our June trip, I will NEVER go in the summer again. It is too hot and I don't enjoy our summer trips as much as our winter trips. It is so draining in the hot sun. I like to feel energized on vacation.:hyper:

Good luck planning!
