Hi there! Looking for ideas on how to tell the kids "We're going to DisneyWorld!" (This is their first trip, DH and I are taking my 9 and 11 y/o nieces.)
It's going to be extremely hard, but we're not telling the kids we're leaving until Easter. We figure it'll be about a month before our early May trip, so it'll be enough time for them to prepare, without being too long for them to wait. :teeth:
I was thinking of buying some Disney dollars, and making a card and putting a fake "admission ticket" to DisneyWorld in the card along with the DDollars. Anyone have any other creative ways to tell the kids?

Since you are going to tell them on Easter... How about an Easter Egg Hunt with Disney related prizes inside? You could buy large Easter eggs and stuff in Disney Dollars, Disney candy, etc. OR you could do a scavenger hunt with the clues inside the eggs leading to the GRAND PRIZE basket with all the Disney goodies for the trip. Guest of Honor Badgles (there is a post on this) would be great, too.

That's a great idea Glenda...I didn't know you could buy Guest of Honor badges before you get to Disney...how do we do that?

Guest of Honor badges can be found at the Christmas Store in DTD. You may call them at 407-828-2042 and order them over the phone. If you want more info. look under the Disney Tips section and there is a thread all about the Guest of Honor Badges.

I like the Easter Egg idea. Also, you might want to call disney mail order and have them send you autograph books with a pen and put them in their basket. Then they can wonder why the Easter bunny gave them to them. When they open the egg, they will put it together.

we ordered the trip planning video from Disney. Then one night we sat down and watched it together. I said loudly to my husband. BOY HONEY... THAT SURE LOOKS FUN.... LETS GO TO DISNEYWORLD TOMMOROW!

and we were.. it was pure bedlam. hilarious and wonderful.
I will never forget it.
