Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

I don’t know how old you guys are but in the year 2050 I won’t give a damn what it’s worth lol that will not be one of my problems.
Do you not have a family member that you intend to pass it down to? Even if they’re not Disney people they may want to sell it and we’ll certainly get more profit selling the Polynesian versus SSR

Of course, the economic analysis holds even you're going to be done with Disney earlier than 2050. Now, if you're only doing this DVC thing for 5-10 years, I'd probably steer away from direct points altogether, although I could make the argument for PVB, but definitely not RIV or the SSR/CCV flash sales we've seen. It's one reason I passed on the CCV flash sale and am sticking with resale CCV. I did go direct with my RIV points because I feel pretty good about keeping those for a long time and possibly passing them on to my kids. PVB, with the smaller differential between direct and resale, especially if you don't already have blue card benefits - that additional cost could be recouped pretty quickly.

I have bought from quite a few people who were selling after they inherited it or that were helping an elderly relative get rid of it.

What is the Aulani sale? Is there an enhanced discount just for Aulani?
I thought is was just for Aulani but I guess it was for all active resorts. It was an additional $1000 off if you buy while at the resort. 😍. Unsure if it’s continued into this incentive cycle. I think some disboarders are there this month and maybe can confirm for us.

do you have to be staying at the resort? or just buy while there? and what is the minimum number of points?

boy their pricing is getting more and more opaque!

Maybe they should bring back the doorway to dreams Black Friday sale too! say you have to show up at a random shopping mall in Chicago (was it Northbrook? Old Orchard?) on Black Friday to get the deal!

When we were there over Christmas break it was an extra $500 for 100-149 points and upped to $1000 if you bought 150 or more. Had to have deal signed while on site at Aulani. Good for primary actively selling resorts but not flash sale. Stacked with D23 and the special anniversary discount at DLH thru we’re doing at the time. There was not the credit card offer at that moment in time so it might not be currently available. We did 100 at poly and 150 at DLH which both are a good amount cheaper than if we did today not at Aulani even with credit card, D23 offers

Soo I'll speak to this, not relevant to this argument but for one I do hope to still be alive in 2050 😂 . But more importantly for me is I don't need just more points. Prior to buying Poly I was already at 600+ points which is a pretty healthy amount but more realistically what I wanted was to be able to guarantee a monorail resort when I want at 11 months. Poly does this, SSR does not.

This is also a luxury purchase, if I'm going to buy this thing, I'm going to get what I want rather than buy somewhere that I don't particularly care for. 50 dollars per point times my 200 points is 10k which is a good amount of money but over 40 years doesn't sound as bad.. what actually sounds bad is not getting what I want for the next 40 years and having to waitlist regularly. Then you add in the fact that Poly has an additional 12 years AND when resold, the price per point delta for direct Poly to resale is closer to 40-50 where as direct SSR to resale SSR drops 60-70. So to sum up, life's short, I'm going to buy what makes me happy LOL.

I think this sums it up perfectly. This is why so many people state to buy where you want to stay as that will make you give you the most joy with the least amount of stress. That’s not to say you can’t stray every once in a while and experience one of the many other great resorts with these points but you know in your heart this is where you feel most at home.

I’m not sure if you have to be staying at aulani or not but you have to be there in person at minimum.

I can wholeheartedly say I love and enjoy this product so much more on the path that I ended up taking home resort wise. I couldn’t be happier with my choices. Zero regret.

You have to do a secret handshake and say the code word to be eligible
