Tell me your thoughts about "The Secret"

Thanks everyone!

A new day and good sleep always offer fresh perspective. And I know it will take time. And eventually, I'll be just fine. Or, I'll find a new job! ;)

I've been putting off my gratitude journal and noticed a little bit of a downward trend in my attitude, so I gave myself a kick in the pants and got going again. Its raining here which normally would be a downer, but I put on a cute romantic comedy and I feel pretty good!

Have a lovely day:)

It's sunny and chilly here! It feels like fall! And I loooove fall weather.

I have the day off work, and I plan on regrouping and adjusting my attitude today so that tomorrow will be better than yesterday.

WTG!

I have to share this...
I was re-reading my gratitude journal and awhile back I had posted that I am grateful for customers that I haven't seen in a long while would start coming back in.

Right after I got done doing my journal for today the salon phone rings and it was one of my customers that I haven't seen since last December, she's been ill and she said she needs to start coming to see me again. Plus I realized after I got off the phone with her that another customer is coming to me today that I haven't seen for over 7 months.

I am very grateful they are coming back:)

DIsneynut- that's great!

Well, I am trying to feel the feelings of joy, gratitude, peace. Trying. I know if I have a bad attitude about the whole thing then I am going to receive what I expect (ie- not being happy) and put out into the world.

Still to come
Be thankful for what is. And be thankful also for what has not yet come to you.
For that is where the possibilities are. And those possibilities have no limit.

Value what you already know, and also value the countless things you don't yet know. For in what you do not know, there is the joy of learning and discoveries to come.

Find peace in the thought that you cannot ever have it all or know it all. For if you did, there would be nothing more to experience.

The best is yet to come. For you have the opportunity to choose it all from the boundless field of possibilities.

There is great value in where you have been, in what you have done, and in all that you now have. And always, so very much more is still to come.

-- Ralph Marston

Get Out of Your Own Way
When you find yourself facing obstacles that appear to be blocking you from your goals, it is important to try not to get discouraged. It can be easy to feel “stuck” or that “life” is creating circumstances preventing you from getting what you want. And while it is easy to look at everyone and everything outside of ourselves for the problem, perhaps even wanting to “get rid” of the person, object, or circumstance we may feel is blocking us, sometimes the best course of action to take may be to look inside ourselves first.

It is amazing how often we can get in our own way without even being aware that we are doing so. Even though we truly want to succeed, there are many reasons why we may sometimes block our own efforts. It may be that we are afraid to succeed, so we subconsciously create circumstances to keep ourselves stuck. Or it may even be that we are afraid that we will succeed, so we block ourselves by making the achievement of our goals more difficult than they really are. We may even approach our goals in a way that keeps creating the same unsuccessful results.

If you believe that you’ve been standing in your own way, you may want to take a piece of paper and record how you’ve done so. Write down the choices you’ve made that have hindered your efforts and the fears that may have prompted you to make these decisions. Take note of any thoughts and feelings that arise. It is important to be gentle and compassionate during this process. Try not to blame yourself for getting in your own way. Remember the choices we make always are there to serve us, until it is time to let them go. When you are finished, throw the paper away while setting an intention that you are getting rid of any obstacles you’ve created to block yourself. You can then let yourself start again with a clean slate. Doubts and fears are going to be natural, but with this new awareness, you should be able to prevent yourself from subconsciously thwarting yourself. Besides, now that you’ve decided to get out of your own way, the part of you that has always wanted to succ! eed can now do so.

I am feeling a bit better. Today was better than Monday- I tried to let go of the negative impressions and sad feelings, and just be there, in the moment.

I am trying to relax, and trust that God and the Universe will support me in this decision, and if this isn't right for me, then something better will come along. :goodvibes

I'm glad you're feeling better. I totally agree that what's meant to be will be. We've had our house for sale for 3 months now and I just don't feel this move is meant to be. 2 houses we really wanted have sold from under us because we didn't sell our place. At first I was upset but then just thought... TRUST in the universe..... It just wasn't meant to be. We've decided to take it off the market for now. We might try again in the spring. DH and I are fine with our decision. We originally put it on the market to purchase another one we really loved near us but it sold before we could sell our house.

Monday was a tough day for me too. I had a difficult day at work. Came home in tears, emailed a friend about it and she emailed back for me to stop with the drama, LOL! AND focus on the GOOD instead! She (and I knew it too) was right. I needed an attitude adjustment & needed to let go of all the negativity I was feeling from there.
When I had gone back the next day I had a different attitude and the day was much better.

I'm like this with my friend Shannon....she loves drama and I'll tell her to cut it out and she says, "Its hard not being a Drama Queen", lol.

Good for you for being positive!

Yep it's hard for me not to dramatize, lol. But I'm learning anxiety and worry do NOTHING to help situations. I need to focus my energy on changing my attitude when I get like that rather then feed into it.

Lol, I've gotten that from a couple of my friends lately, and you know something? I actually agree with them! They basically said to get over what was bothering me, that it wasn't worth it, and to focus my energies on bigger and better things. I think it's all about the attitude adjustment, because no matter what's going on outside, it's what goes on inside that makes all the difference.

ETA: DreaminDisney, I just clicked on the link you posted (didn't see it before!) and what came up...a quote about attitude adjustment!:thumbsup2 It's funny how things go sometimes...

Elder's Meditation of the Day - October 3
"Spiritual Values are an Attitude."
--Leonard George, Chief Councilor
Attitude is a direction which we follow. If you have a positive attitude, it means you will lean towards a positive direction. If you have a negative attitude, it means you will lean away from the Spirit. Therefore, if we lean toward spiritual values, then our actions will become significant and important. If we lean away from spiritual values, our actions will become insignificant or unimportant. For example, if we value love, we will lean towards it; we will prefer to express and embrace it.

The moment of relief is when you drop the oars and let the stream turn you. There is a moment of relief there every single time. So if you are reaching for the relief factor, what you will begin to notice is you're dropping the oars, you're dropping the oars, you're turning in the stream, you're beginning to allow yourself to be carried to where you want to be. And we want you to know that there are delicious aspects of life, everywhere in the stream ... And then you would say, But I really wanted it to not take so long from when I want something, and I float into the experience of it. And we say, then drop the oars. Because the only time you need oars is when you're paddling against the current. - Abraham-Hicks

Do not try to predict or manipulate the avenue through which your good will come. Be true to your dream, and the universe will show up to support you in amazing ways.
