Tell me your thoughts about "The Secret"

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

Quote time:

:goodvibes All of life comes to me with ease and joy and glory. :goodvibes

Here's a great technique for sending your visualization/affirmation out into the Universe after you've done the work I suggested 2 posts ago. (You want to have done the work of having the goal clearly in your mind before sending it off.) :goodvibes

This is from Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain.

Pink Bubble Meditation Technique

• Sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes and breathe deeply, slowly, and naturally. Gradually relax and feel this meditation taking you deeper and deeper.

• Imagine something that you would like to manifest. Imagine it as though it already happened.

• Picture it as clearly as possibly in your mind. Hear it, feel it, or sense it.
Now in your mind’s eye surround your fantasy with a pink bubble; put your goal inside the bubble. Pink is the color associated with the heart, and if this color vibrations surrounds whatever you visualize, it bring to you only that which is in perfect affinity with your being.

• Now let go of your bubble and imagine it floating off into the universe, still containing your vision. This symbolizes that you are emotionally "letting go” of it, turning it over to the higher power of the Universe to bring it to you.

Now it’s free to float around the universe, attracting and gathering energy for it’s manifestation.

You can do this process one time and let go of it completely, or you can do it regularly for a while. If you want to do it regularly, I recommend doing so every morning when you wake up, and again at night before going to sleep.

To the OP... Thanks for starting this thread. It's very uplifting and I'm enjoying every post from everyone! :wizard:

OP here!! So, I have been reading a chapter of The Secret each night in bed before I fall asleep. I had a meeting at work today that seemed to be a huge ***** session. I constantly thought positive things, but I will have to admit, it was hard.

Then, my DS was hosting a summer 20th birthday get together in our backyard. Well, it was POURING all day, called for 80% chance of rain throughout the night, but I kept thinking positive thoughts. Well, about 30 minutes before the party was to start, the sun came out and it was a beautiful evening.......hhhmmmmm.......am I "getting" what this is all about????

OK, today I got up the courage to call and follow up on my resume. AND- I ended up talking to the woman who will be doing the interviews, and she said she's just been swamped, but hopes to do phone interviews next week or the week after. She remembered my name and a little about me, so that was a good sign.

I'm feeling so much better. I did the pink bubble meditation today, and I'm starting to feel like this *is* my job. :goodvibes

And then, that thought struck me. The last time I felt like this: so confident and sure and just positive that the Universe would arrange itself for me, was when I got my dog Jules:

I had been searching for a puppy (spring 2005). It was pre-baby, and Mark and I had just gotten married and bought our house in the country. Since he works evenings, I was lonely at night, and I was used to having a dog growing up, and missed having a dog around the house, so I started my search. I looked at Petfinder.com nearly every day! I scanned classified ads. I checked local shelters. I was looking for a lab or golden retriever sort of dog. I found one puppy at a shelter near us, and called about him, but he was already gone. But, I kept looking. Then, one day, I found the most beautiful puppy. Named: Becky! :rotfl: She had green eyes, and looked like a lab mix. I called immediately and was told I had to pre-interview. Then, the agency said that they would be in Sunset Hills, MO (about 1 hr 15 min from my house) on Sunday, and they would have her there for adoption, but that they had LOTS of applicants. But ya know what? I didn't care- that was MY dog. She had my name, for cryin out loud! So, I got up at the crack of dawn to make it there by opening time. I interviewed AGAIN. And there were lots of people there for little Becky the dog. But, I just knew, had faith, that this was my dog. I was taking her home. I did two more interviews.

Finally, they told everyone who inquired about her that they would make their decision by 3 pm.

DH and I had lunch, did some shopping, and I got a call while in Target. I answered the phone and they asked where I was, and when I said Target they asked, "Are you buying dogfood?" :lmao: I was so excited!! But, the whole time, I just had unwavering faith that I was bringing that puppy home with me!! It's been 3 years, and now she's a lug of a lovebunny that weighs 90 lbs. And her name is Jules, because 2 Beckys is just more than anyone can handle.

Anyway- I just wanted to share that little story because I really recognized for the first time that I was using the Law of Attraction then, I just didn't know it: I asked, I believed, I recieved. And I intend to do that with this job opportunity.

:jumping1: party: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: :jumping1:

Yay! beckmrk04! WooHoo!

I love the story. BTW, her name probably wasn't Becky. Someone wrote it down wrong, they were supposed to write, "Becky'S dog" and just hand her to you. :teeth: :cool1:

THANK YOU!! Once again you have opened a new door for me!
It never occurred to me to check YouTube!

What a gold mine! :yay:

These were both wonderful but I can't wait to go back and watch all the others!

Becky... I'm holding good thoughts for you about your job! :wizard:

Karen... I also want to thank you for starting this thread! It already has meant so much to me. Just having a place to stop by and find another link to the positive universe is awesome!

CathrynRose... I love your quote! I added a phrase from Louise Hays YouTube to it and have made it one of my affirmations:

All of life comes to me with ease and joy and glory; only good lies before me.

Hi and glad to see you to everyone else too!

That would be me!!! I haven't been posting much, but I have been reading! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hey Karen, glad your back. It would be great to hear how reading The Secret has been affecting you. :) Are you finding it like what your friend said?

I watched the movie a couple of months ago, and had dh watch it too. It's really changed how we think all the time. We talked about how we were kind of practicing the secret without really knowing it but now it's more focused. Now there's a reason to my rhyme. :goodvibes

I'm going to have to read Wayne Dyer. I've heard him speak on PBS and on qvc. He just seems so peaceful. I also want to read some of Michael Beckwith's books.

More good news.

DH is going back to school this fall (he's got a BA in Graphic Design, but finding a job has been elusive). SO, he's going back for a 2nd BA in Mass Comm with an emphasis in advertising. So, I have been really excited about this, and he is too- it feels like we're moving forward, you know?

So, anyway- for the last 4 years he's been at a "pays-the-bills" job. He doesn't like it, is overqualified, but: it pays the bills, puts food on the table, and keeps a roof over our head, so we've made do. :goodvibes The main thing that has been a bummer is that for those 4 years, he has had to work afternoons (3:30-midnight). Which means, we hardly ever even see each other, since I work during the day.

But, in alignment with all of my good thoughts, faith, and visualization, two day-time openings were just announced at his job!! I'm so excited. Openings on days are few and far between, and he's not garaunteed the spot, but things have just felt really good lately, and I'm feeling optimistic.

It will be so great to have him home for dinner every night! Now, hopefully, they'll work around his classes (one day conflicts). We'll see. I have faith that it will work out just the way it is supposed to. :)

Good luck to your DH, Beckmrk04. :goodvibes

As suggestion to piggyback onto your DH's description of his "pays-the-bills" job, is to add the adjectives, "pleasant, rewarding pays-the-bills" job. :yay: It might make the difference on which day shift job he will get. One of them could be a nightmare to work. :headache:

Some Tips For Maintaining Positive Energy :cool1:

Developing positive energy can become a habit if you work on it. It just takes practice. There are many things you can do to practice making positive energy your habit:

1. Begin every day with a ritual that reminds you that whatever you manifest in your life begins as a thought in your mind.

2. Remind yourself what you want to create in your life several times a day. Make this a habit.

3. Be aware of your thoughts as much as possible, and the control that you have over them. If you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop the thought and replace it with a positive one.

4. Approach your world from a mind of gratitude. Focus as much as possible on all the things you have to be grateful about. It’s impossible to experience a negative thought while you are dwelling in gratitude.

5. Develop a strong trust in the good of the universe. Expect that all your needs will be met. Strive to believe that you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

6. Think of your mind as a sacred place and protect it. Don’t allow yourself to participate in negative energy. Claim your power to remove yourself from negative discussions, relationships and environments.

7. Look for beauty in everything you encounter.

8. Think of your experience of life like starring in a movie that takes place in your mind. If you want to experience joy, think happy thoughts. If you want to create or experience something, visualize it.

Eight Ideas To Help Find Personal Energy:

1. Be Focused / Visualize Success

Know why you get out of bed each day. Have a plan for how you intend to reach your goals, and do not allow the "buzz" of distractions to knock you off course. See in your mind what success looks like and when you get knocked down, get back up and back on course. Nothing can give you power like a clear and focused plan to achieve.

2. Surround Yourself With Great People

Human beings are social creatures. We long to connect and interact with other people and instinctively react to each other. If you surround yourself with those who emit positive energy, you will find that you become re-charged. The converse is also true, those who are in a negative place all the time will bring you down. Seek out people whom find the positive in others, not those who gossip or degrade. Be part of a team that has goals and celebrates the accomplishments of everyone. Your energy is a mirror of those closest to you.

3. Avoid Worry

Bad things do sometimes happen. Yep. But do not spend your time engulfed in worry about what COULD go wrong. Be cautious and do not take ridiculous risks (some risk is good) that will cause problems, and then go on about your life. If something bad does happen, you will need to deal with it at that moment, but never allow you mind to wander and waste your time on things that will most likely never occur. Worrying will deplete your energy.

4. Physical Activity

Be engaged in some form of regular physical activity. This not only allows you to condition your body and build stamina, but it also helps your mind stay focused. Conditioning your muscles helps you create more energy. Ever hear the expression "the more you do, the more you can do"? It is true.

5. Know What Others Expect From You

When you work closely with others it does not make you a mind reader. People all have expectations of others, but if these are not clearly stated and understood, then problems will arise. Take the time to ask the people in your life what they expect from you so that your actions are leading you toward success. Mis-directed efforts send your energy into the sewer.

6. Be Grateful

All opportunities come from people. Nobody achieves much alone on an island, but sometimes individuals forget that their success comes from working together with other people. We need to take the time to be grateful for our achievements and the assistance of those people in our life who helped contribute. Take the time to not only say thank you to people, but also to contemplate all the good that surrounds you. Positive energy seems to be drawn to those who are grateful. I have found the more I acknowledge my thankfulness into the universe, the more good things happen.

7. Serve Others

There are few things as energizing as making a difference in the life of another person. Find ways to put your own needs and desires aside from time to time and do for others. Have what many call a "servant's heart" and be a force for good in the lives of your family, friends, co-workers, and strangers. Those people whom I know who do for others are the ones who have the highest level of contentment in their lives. Money and material things aside, there is a richness in the personal energy that comes from doing something good.

8. Enjoy Everything

Everything in the world is made up of the positive energy we seek. If you just take a minute to enjoy the beauty in all around you, a discovery of life's force energy is eminent. We get distracted by deadlines, responsibilities, misunderstandings, and all the standard BS that clouds our minds. But even in the negative things there is a lesson to be learned, and a silver lining. Look for the positive energy that is sometimes masked. Find joy in everything you do. You choose how you react to all you encounter, so stop blaming others, and begin to live within the flow of Chi.
