This year, we sprang for APs, so our trips are going to be Disney, Disney, and more Disney (and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, long story). But, after 2018, we're going to need a Disney break! So, for 2019, I've started planning 3 weeks in the British Isles. We've been to England and Scotland before, so the focus may mainly be on Ireland, but DD hasn't been anywhere in Europe. She'll be 6 or 7 then (depending on when we go), so it's going to be fun mixing things the adults want to do with stuff that will keep the kid vaguely interested.

So, tell me about your upcoming vacation plans that don't involve Disney (note: trips that incidentally include a Disney stopover as part of a longer adventure are encouraged to respond!).

We have two kids in college right now. So most of our trips will just be me and DH, and they will be close enough to drive (gotta save some money for those tuition payments!). For Spring Break (I'm a teacher), DH, 2 other couples and I booked a condo in Hilton Head. Over the summer DH and I are spending a week in Virginia Beach. The kids may be able to join us for the weekend. Over Christmas Break, all 4 of us are going on a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas on Carnival.

Oh your daughter will be a great age for the British Isle! What fun.

My next bigger vacation is going to be 4 nights in San Juan, Puerto Rico then a 14 night transatlantic cruise on Jewel of the seas. We stop in 3 Canary islands, Gibraltar, Alicante and Valencia before docking outside Rome in Civitavechia. I've been to all th stops but some for only a port day and we're pretty excited. We booked the week before Maria and debated cutting back on the PR part, especially as the hotel we planned to be at is not going to be open, but we've found a locally owned hotel that is open and decided to spend our time and money there helping get the locally owned restraunts and other tourist spots back on their feet. We'll have to replan how to spend the das, but that's ok:

In the fall we're spending some time in Detroit (I havent seen the Diego Rivera Murals for 15 years and it's been a decade seince I got to Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village) and then we're flying to Seattle and taking a Pacific Northwest cruise. It overnights in San Fransisco which i am very excited abut as i have never been there.

Ours is a cruise. Royal Caribbean 8 day out of San Juan, Jewel of the Seas. We have stops in St Maarten, Barbados, Grenada, Martinigue, & St Croix. We are adding 3 days in San Juan with friends who are cruising with.

Disclaimer: I do use cruise critic :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are doing an all inclusive in Puerto Vallarta in July. Couples only for a friends 40th.

Baltimore for a bachelorette party weekend getaway.

Maybe Busch gardens with the kids this summer but it’s not planned yet.

My son goes to Disney for his senior trip in March. I’m taking DD12 in November.

Last year we did DC and really enjoyed it

This summer I'm extending a stay on Coronado Island (San Diego) - I'm speaking for a conference - and DH's joining me. He's going to do some military-type sightseeing, and then we'll find some stuff to do together on the free days.

Hotel del Coronado, though, which looks gorgeous! https://hoteldel.com/

Trip to California. Bought my Dodger tickets! We will be tourists and take the Warner Bros. Studios Tour and visit Griffith Observatory. (Then we visit Disneyland ;)) Then to Santa Monica for a couple days to visit family before flying home.

I am an AP holder so there will be at least two trips to WDW this year, F&G and F&W. We are considering buying a smaller fifth wheel to get some dive trips in at the keys. We got a yorkie almost 4 years ago and our dive trips had to stop because of her. She is very people dependent since honey works from home and she is never alone. She can't be boarded because she is submissive around other dogs so wouldn't be able to do day care and if stuck in a room all by herself all day with just an occasional visitor wouldn't eat, the same with going to stay at someone else's house. The only solution is to have someone come stay at our house but it would have to be someone who didn't leave her alone for longer than one or two days while at work, certainly not a week of leaving her for 8 or more hours or taking her with us. She does o.k. being left in hotel rooms but we figured it might be easier to just buy an RV. That will also mean buying a new truck since ours isn't big enough. So we will try to rent a RV for a couple of quick trips to the beach to see how it works for us (if we can rent a truck we aren't sure about that).

We are taking a week-long family vacation to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores, AL at the end of May this year.

We will probably take a long weekend trip to Fort Walton Beach in July. My FIL lives there so it’s basically free except for gas and we get to spend time with him, so win-win :)

In October, me and my husband are going to Vegas for a few days for a combined birthdays/anniversary trip. None of those are close in date, but we like to pool them together and take a trip for them.

(Family trip to Disney in December - sorry had to put it, I’m excited, lol)

For next year, we are planning an 8-10 day trip to Vegas/Grand Canyon/California. Our kids want to see Vegas, the GC, the Pacific Ocean, and Santa Monica Pier.

Our dog is like this too. We are spending the weekend in Santa Cruz, so we hired our baby-sitter to house sit for us. The other non Disney trip we have planned is possibly come back to Santa Cruz for DH's and I's anniversary in October.

We try to take a long weekend every other week or so. Switching between northern Ontario or a Florida beach. This weekend we are doing things in Toronto. In 2 weekends are going to Pittsburgh to check out some art galleries and museums. Then Mexico to the Frida Kahlo museum. At some point Panama and Costa Rica. Bar Barbour for October. Wife wants to go th the outer banks in the spring but I have no desire to go.

We are on a "dark side" year this trip, so we'll be heading down next month to spend a few days with family in Florida, then three at Universal. - So excited to try out the new water park if it's warm enough! We're staying at Cabana Bay, which is also new to us.

April school vacation, we're hoping to do DC (Smithsonian museums, mostly).

And in summer, a week with family in the Finger Lakes region of western NY. :boat:

If you are there on a Sunday look into doing the brunch at The Del.

Booked so far; a week in the Smoky Mountains, 10 days at Universal Orlando and 12 days in Key West.

A week in the Smoky Mountains area is on my list. I almost booked a week for my kids Spring break, but thought it would be too chilly at the end of March/early April. Instead, we are going to Disney(had points we needed to use).
