Tell me: when you did your add-on

did you add on at your home resort or other? Did you add on with same use year or other? Why? What's the pros/cons? (Can you tell I've got the fever?!!)

So glad someone asked about add-ons-I did mine today! Different resort because the one we added on at (BCV) didn't exist when we made or original purchase, love it, want the 11 month window to reserve there. Same use year-we bought through Disney and the guide said they "very rarely" let anyone add-on in a different use year. With the MB, and BCV selling out within the next several months, this is a good time to "get the fever". I know the condition-I had it myself until today-this purchase "cured" it.

Original purchase was BWV in Jan 2000 for 300 points. We did an add on this past November for 100 points at Vero Beach.

While at Boardwalk this past October went to the Members Update meeting and heard about the offers they were making at Vero. My in-laws have been there once on our points and loved it - in fact we are sending them again this year. Thought it would be nice to have that 11 month advantage for them and for us as a getaway from time to time after a WDW vacation. When we called our guide they still had our use year available so we have the same for all our points.

We purchased 210 pts at BWV in 2000 and thought that would hold us for a while. NOT!!! And then BCV starting selling to everyone else but NY last February ... we waited thru February, March and April. Finally couldn't stand it any longer, so we flew down for a couple of days and purchased another 210 pt contract. We needed more points 'cause all the kids want to go (DD's 25,14 &12 & DS (USAF) 22 and osn-in-law and GS 4 & GD's 2 & 7 mos -YIKES!!) and we really love the Epcot area. This should hold us for a couple of more years.
Now, with Saratoga Springs on the horizon and living only about 25 miles from the real Saratoga Springs, we will have to think this thru ... 2 contracts... 4 kids ... thinkin' about SSR ... hmmmm ... I dunno about Eagle Pines though.

Hi, our original contract was for 375 pts at the BWV, purchased in Oct 2000. We love the EPCOT area, so when BCV started pre selling we decied to add on there! We go 150 points with the same use yr (April). Hopefully the 525 will hold us for a few years

Our original contract of 150 points is at BWV. We bought over the phone before even seeing it. (We had taken the OKW tour back in the early years.)

When we added 75 points last year, we wanted to stick with BWV because we love it there and it was just simpler to keep it all in one place. BW was sold out, but some points became availabe through Disney while we were looking into re-sales.

OKW is my home resort and I love it - but in December I like to stay in different places - well if you have ever tried to reserve a DVC resort in the early part of December - you will understand my problem - after getting locked out of VWL - I love this place in December!!! - I brought there.

I had brought at BWV years before because of my love of Epcot and I hate to part with it because of the standard points these days.

We originally purchased 150 pts at BWV. That's working fine for us with our WDW vacation plans.

We added on 100 points at HH in July, 2001. In July, 2002, we added on another 82 at HH. Just this month, we added on another 50 at HH. All have the same use year.

Simba's Mom, Congratulations on your add on. I know you've been thinking about it for a while.

We take two kinds of trips, and we tried to match our points with the kind of trip. We originally bought a 300 point OKW resale. OKW was right for the large family trips we had planned. We always rent a car or a van for them, and parking in front of our door is a big plus. We also appreciate the big rooms and low points.

We added on 100 at BWV for trips that just DW and I take. We like BWV for those because they generally revolve around EPCOT, often during the Food & Wine Festival. We get a studio for those trips, so room size isn't much of a factor.

We purchased first at OKW(300 pts-1999). Then we wanted another DVC, but off WDW property, and ocean front. So we added 200 pts last year at VB($15 MB's=$62 pt).We got the same use yr(Sept) for both of ours. We did it to have the 11 month window at both places, especially for the GV's and Beach Cottages.

Original purchase at OKW for 320 pts. Loved the condo feeling as against the hotel feeling so did another 80 pt. addon at OKW, same use year. Loved our trip to HHI and did a 100pt addon there. As HHI seemed to becomming more popular and the DVC family is getting larger, did another 50 pt addon at HHI, all same use year.

Original OKW contract of 230 points in '97. Added on 150 points at OKW in '98 and plan to buy resale with a different use year for OKW in 2004.

Purchased BCV, then added on to bring points up to a full week choice season. This resort for location (Epcot, MGM, BW, miniature golf, lots of great restaurants), access to SAB and the theming. Purchased separate OKW resale (lower cost to purchase and own) for larger family gatherings, more laid back and a second week. OKW has different use year than BCV.
