We are planning a trip for June (1-10) of 2015. We haven't been since 2009 and we normally go in August. So I am looking for some idea of what we can expect. What, if anything, is going on at that time? What about crowd levels?

We are used to lower crowd levels at the end of August and I am wondering how much higher they will be.

TIA!

Crowds are climbing but not yet at their summer peaks. They will probably be higher than what you are used to in late August. The only special event I can think of off the top of my head is Star Wars Weekends.

We always go in early June, as soon as school is out.

Weather is generally pretty warm and it is about 50/50 rain chance pretty much every day. If you do get some decent cloud cover and not much rain it helps keep the temps down. This year was not that bad, but then again we are from Texas. Drink water and plan some decent mid-day breaks.

Crowds are not so bad early on in June and then start to build as the month goes on. This year we were there from the 8th to the 15th. We only had one day that I would have considered it really really crowded. That was a day at EPCOT and I think some of that is early morning crowd and lack of FP+ options played into that.

FP+ we had not troubles getting what we wanted. We even managed to get extras on days we tried.

For me the best June tip that works for me is Rope Drop. With a decent plan and FP+ times, if your family can do rope drop you can get a ton done.

We were in WDW in late June for the first time this year. We always go in mid to late August.

The weather was pretty much the same as August (though we lucked out with very little rain!) It was MUCH more crowded than we find August. There were also more tour groups, though I'm not sure they greatly impacted the crowds we saw.

We were there last month and rope drop on the last day of SWW worked out quite well. I was surprised it wasn't busier in the morning - we had short waits for SW meet and greets. We hopped to Epcot where it also didn't appear crowded in World Showcase.

Weather-wise, one day the thunderstorms rolled in at 1:30 and continued through the evening. The following day, thunderstorms began at 5:30 and lasted through park closing. Most SWW activities continued as well as the fireworks even though it was raining.

Be sure to plan on SWW! Our group of six adults had a great time!

We just returned from a trip second week in June. Our two previous trips were in Sept. in Oct, so I was concerned about how we would deal with the heat and crowd differences. We don't have the option to travel in the fall now with our oldest starting middle school (its much easier to pull the kids out of school in elementary for a week). We had a great time and were pleasantly surprised. Crowd levels averaged a "7" and it was HOT but we were never miserable and did everything we planned. We used FP's smartly, did RD and came back to rest between 3-5pm, and loved returning in the evenings. We plan to do June again! We hopped and used FP+'s in the evening park. We had no issue doing standby lines for our morning parks.

This is why we are planning for early June. Our only daughter starts college in the fall so late August just doesn't work anymore and as much as I would love to see WDW at Christmas I don't want to see the crowds around the holidays or be there when the weather is iffy.

We've done early June twice. It's not that bad. One year it never rained, and the next there were some crazy storm systems coming through so there were storms almost constantly.

Crowds were better than when we went at the end of July last year. I imagine they will be higher than the end of August, but we found them pretty manageable. Weather-wise, t's definitely hot, that's for sure!

We have visited the second week of June before. It was hot and somewhat crowded, but not unbearable. I think Gay Days are the first week/weekend of June; that usually puts some extra folks in a designated park each day during the event. If you are looking for smaller crowds it may be wise to plan to be in a park other than the one designated in those plans.

Ditto what everyone has said. I just wanted to add that if you want to see a detailed analysis/description of crowds and recommendations, check out easywdw.com
You won't be able to see next June yet, but it's basically the same every year, so just read through what it says about this past June.
Oh and also we frequently go during that first week of June and have a grand time!
