Tell me what is delish for dinner at Mama Melrose's???

We are going to Mama Melrose's for dinner when we are in DHS. Tell me what I should get...

I always get the Wood Grilled Chicken. I love it! I'm not a big red meat eater and this dish is delish. It's a huge serving good luck finishing half of it and make sure you have room for dessert. The warm chocolate truffle cake is fantastic!

The calamari is very tasty (if you don't mind a LOT of peppers); I usually get the four-cheese flatbread and really enjoy it (I didn't like it so much this past September, but I think I was overtired--had been up at like 3:30 a.m. for our flight); DH loves the Penne alla vodka and last trip had the Pork Marsela (spelling?) and really enjoyed it.

I love to get the Penne Alla Vodka. Also, our waiter was really nice and let me add shrimp into it!

Would anyone know if they are able to adapt this to make it vegetarian? Is it only the pancetta that they would need to omit or are there other things in it?

It usually contains cream, so if you're vegetarian, it should be ok if they can omit the pancetta...vegan not so much. I've made it at home and it's generally a marinara sauce with vodka and cream added.

Thank you very much. I do eat dairy so hopefully they may be able to do this for me.

The spaghetti fra diavlo is outstanding. I also LOVE the minestrone soup. Most everything is very good. Not sure why it gets a lot of bad reviews. We cook and eat Italian all the time, and MM is among the better meals we've had.

We ate dinner there once and were not impressed, no flavor at all....we went back for lunch last year and the pizzas were pretty good

I had the chick parm. It tasted good, however, I got about 3 oz of spagatti. Pasta is so *cheap*, they could at least give you enough.
My dd had the child pizza. It, too, was very small.

From one Italian to another I feel your pain. I'm ALWAYS the odd one out during the "Olive Garden is soooo good!" conversations I can do the breadsticks and salad but keep that red sauce away from me

I was never a fan of MM until I had the Penne alla Vodka. It is so yummy and the only menu item I order.

I would like to try something new but we never have enough time to eat at all of our favorite restaurants.
