Tell me what I need to know about Quick Serve/Mobile Ordering?

Now that I have tried and failed on many of my preferred ADRs, I need to understand the rumblings about Quick Serve & Mobile ordering.

2 questions:

1. I've heard you need to order in advance - are there no walk ups right now? If you need to mobile order in advance, how critical is it doing it early?

2. What is your #1 favorite quick serve in each park?

I know it is a little ridiculous, but we've always been on the Deluxe Dining Plan and had all my meals planned in advance and only ordered snacks on the go, so having to plan for quick serve is a new ballgame, especially in the Covid world.

And BTW, if they introduce Genie+ before my trip and at 7am I am under pressure to book our first Genie+ ride, Virtual Queues, and Mobile Food I may literally explode. Implode? Something will happen and it won't be pretty.

Many places aren't accepting walkups. Don't have a precise list.

I don't much do quick serve. MK I would go for Columbia Harbor House, AK maybe Flame Tree if it's open, HS I would go get a Ronto wrap. Epcot there is something for everyone, much variety. I like fish and chips or Regal Eagle.

Your post breaks my heart. I feel you, it's no fun sometimes. To offer some small hope, sometimes you'll see reservations become available the day before....

1. Back during my last trip in April, my family got in the habit of figuring out our lunch QS while we were in line for our first ride of the day shortly after rope drop, so around 8 or 9 am. We only did it early because we wanted to be sure that we could have an ideal lunchtime around 11:30 or 12. The kids like to eat early.

2. So hard. Sometimes favorite doesn't mean the food is necessarily good, but more that the AC is good, seating is plentiful, quiet, etc.
MK - Pecos Bills (usually lots of seating and tex mex can be a crowd pleaser) or Pinocchio Village Haus (it can get busy but I just send the kids to find a table, AC is good, and even bad pizza is good)
Epcot - Katsura Grill (not much seating, but usually not as crowded as other places and all the fam loves teriyaki)
AK - Satu'li Canteen (tons of seating, a lot lighter than the usual burgers and pizza QS fare so old folks might appreciate it)
HS - PizzeRizzo (excellent AC, tons of upstairs quiet seating, and sometimes you don't care what you eat as long as it's not outdoors)
