Tell me we are not going to hate this....(Cher concert dilemma)

My friend called me yesterday am while I was at work (I'm only working half days because I'm about to have a baby anyday) Well, she was on the way to pick up her dd from camp, but she told me Cher tickets just went onsale so I said I'd get them online when I got home from work, she told me to get the expensive ones. Well, I went to ticketmaster, and they only showed me best available which was on the floor and thats what I got. They were the higher priced seats. I had tried to call my friend on her cell but it was out of range, to make sure thats what she wanted me to do.
Anyway, I don't think shes to happy with these seats, and they came out to 90 bucks a pop. The venue holds under 10,000 people. She says we will have to stand all night and out dd's might not be able to see.
It looks like floor seating is divided into 6 sectons, 3 in front, a row behind that, and another 3. It looks like we are in row B of the second set of floor seating.
So did I totally blow it or do you think these seats might be okay. I was afraid if I didn't get them then, they might all be sold out, I could tell while I was online seats were moving quickly. Our dd's are 10 & 11, please someone, make me feel better about this!

I haven't been to a concert in a long time, but from what I have heard since 9/11, concerts have changed alot. Even on the floor seating, you are not allowed to stand. Nor are you allowed to get out in the aisles or in front of the stage and dance.

Not allowed to stand? Every concert we go to, people stand.
Infact, often the whole concert is standing during much of the
performance. My sister and I saw Cher. I think the crowd was
older so not so much standing. Also, there's more stage
performance than singing( or half and half) so people really
want to see. You might be ok.

I have been to numerous concerts since 9/11, and every one of them had people standing, some throughout the entire concert (Don't you just wish EVERYONE would just sit down? Then EVERYONE could see and be comfortable!!) They were standing in the decks, on the floor, everywhere. In front of the stage, everywhere. Dancing..everywhere....I don't know how in the world they could ever stop an entire stadium from leaping to their feet and dancing.

We saw the Cher Farewell concert about 2 years ago..How long is this bye-bye going to go on?? By the way, it was an incredible show, you will love it...

I agree with shortbun, the crowd is definitely older w/Cher, so you probably won't have to stand unless you get a couple of young 'uns in front of you. I hope your dd likes it, the 11 year old sitting with the soccer mom next to us was bored to tears..Just not her kind of music, I guess.

This is weird but DH got tickets a while back from someone at work. The lady got sick and couldn't go so she sold them to DH. I am not a big Cher fan but we went anyway. Our seats were also floor seats and I hated them! I would have rather been up in the clouds so at least I could see the stage. I am 5'3" and could not see over anyone. Everybody stood up for each and every song. The only way I could have seen was to stand on my chair. But that would have meant blocking whatever view someone else might have had. So I pretty much stood there and looked at the bakc of peoples heads or caought a glimpse of Cher in the bigscreen monitor. Everyone stood and more poured out into the aisles and no one said anything to anyone. I have never heard of not being allowed to stand during a concert but really thought I would have some view being dead center stage. Unfortunately I wouldn't go again in those seats if they were free, which they were not as we paid $150 for these tickets. I don't know about the older ones sitting because all ages stood. There were also a lot of young gay men there and they had plenty of entergy to stand for 3 hours!

We also saw a lot of gay young men at the concert we went to, and they were having a blast!! You are right, a lot of energy!! We went with a gay couple, but they are older, so they didn't show out as much...

About the standing - at most pop concerts you are going to have big fans there. Most folks stand / dance etc. This is not new. I always get up and try and have a good time. Hey - I paid as much as everyone else.

I'm sure you could but not according to this crowd. Cher said to the audience that her gay men groupies were there. When she said that they all stood on their chairs hooting and hollaring. They were so excited and wild. They were having a blast. There was no comparison between the gay guys and the old farts such as my self who were there!

You could always get other seats and sell those. I got tickets on-line for an open air concert and after i realized we would have the sun beating in our faces all day (which wouldn't have bothered me, but my Mom was undergoing chemo and radiation at the time) I went and got other seats that were under the overhang and sold my first 2 seats. Sold 'em at face value. I'm sure for Cher you'd have no trouble getting rid of them.

Great idea. The OP could also trade down once she got there. I am sure there are plenty of people that think floor seats are better then upper concourse. And to trade evenly with them would be an even better incentive. I know I would rather pay $90 a ticket and actually see the show then $90 a ticket and watch somebodys head!
