camped in Cazadero with scouts, 50ish overnight, 93 during the day, milky way was fully out overnight, and DS15 slept on a ground cloth both nights to look a the stars.

54F this morning. Feels good. Should stay that way all week.

The weekend shows some high 40s at night. No rain forecasted for several days.

No excuse to not do some work in/on the camper before the DISMeet.

Praying everyone in Florida will be safe & Milton will become a ghost & go away. Here in Central Texas we are still having 90's during the day,, but cool at night. No rain in sight. Our Sept. was the driest we have had in a long time. So zero forecast for October.

I was at 10,000 feet 3 weeks ago @team bradfield . You can't drive there but have to get to these views on foot. But Fall comes sooner to the higher elevations than it does to the lower ones. And I "lived" there for a week last month.

We hit the high 40s at night but the aspen trees on the slopes above us were gorgeous.









That thin mountain air holds no heat when the clouds disappear.

I am on the North side of Milton’s eye. We received an Extreme Wind Warning, it’s very noisy outside, but I still have power at the moment.

Well, we're still here. News said we had 14.4" of rain and some 90+ gusts. Lakeland Electric has done a crazy amount of infrastructure upgrades since Irma and it showed. A few flickers but we never lost power. There is a puddle of water on my floor near the kitchen. That happened during Irma as well. Near as I can tell the wind blows the rain into one of the off ridge vents and it finds it's way down the duct to a AC register.
Even the outside looks good. I see grey shingles on the ground around our house. Ours are red so maybe we lucked out.
We slept in the motorhome in the garage last night. Three adults and 2 cats. Not an experience I would recommend, especially with the slides in, but I felt it was safer.

I heard from @TheRustyScupper just now and they are preparing to hunker down in their corner of Clermont as well.

@TheRustyScupper reports they made it through Milton just fine. Very little damage in their Clermont neighborhood.

We made it through! We lost power Wednesday night and are still without power. This was much scarier than Irma.

We have some minor damage to the soffits around the house. The fence is down between us and the neighbor on one side.

But worst of all, our huge, beautiful oak tree went down on our other neighbor’s house. She is okay, but she has a good bit of damage.we have both called our insurance companies, but I was told it will be while because they are backed up with the claims from Helene.

One of our main tv weather guys (been in this market forever) said this week that central Alabama has not any meaningful precipitation since September 28. And looking at the forecast, October 30 is the next day coming up that has more than a 10% chance of rain locally.

Weather has been great, though. Just wish it would rain gently while we sleep.

We are in the same boat (pun intended) here. We had torrential rains (5-6 inches in less than 24 hours) towards the end of September and nothing since. Farmers were able to get crops out, so no harm there.

We dodged a winterizing moment here. Went below freezing Wednesday morning and right to 32 yesterday morning. I had the camper in the driveway and just turned the furnaces on early Wednesday morning. I didn't bother yesterday figuring the camper is insulated well enough for the brief time it might get below freezing. Everything was fine. It is forecast to be above 32 until after we leave for the DIS Meet.

And so it officially begins. First snow fall last night. 35 for a high today.
Some folks forgot how to drive in the stuff. Young lady lost it going over a bridge. With some help she was able to get out and let her stay warm in my truck until the rescue people showed up. Thank goodness she was ok.

Same happens here in Southern Ontario, Canada. Speed and unfocused attention to the driving job at hand = a visit by a tow truck.
