How crowded is DCL, really? If the ship sails at full capacity, how bad are the crowds, both on board and at CC? I'm thinking of booking for spring break. When are the cruises the most crowded?

On our last 7 day it was full and I never felt crowded. The pools and hot tubs were pretty busy but it didnt seem to bother the kids and it didnt look like the adult pool was ever full.

What seemed crowded to us was the Deck Party, the 70's party, and right at the time you go into dinner (but the line goes very fast once it starts).

Most of the time, we don't feel crowded.

We were on the Wonder on 2-1-04 and I think the ship was near capacity and I did not feel crowded at all. Very spreadout. The only time is around the Mickey pool with alot of the young children, but that area is easily avoidable.

We sailed at full capacity. We didn't realize how many people were on board until CC. Kids wanted to know what other cruise ship was there, they couldn't believe all those people were on the Magic. We actually left CC early(was kindof cool) and spent quiet time at the pools, no one onboard:D .

We sailed on the 1/24 Magic and only felt crowded once when you have to do that ridiculus immigration thing before going ashore in St. Thomas.

We were on the Wonder over Easter break last year. I can only think of 2 times that we saw a big crowd....1) The Mickey pool on the day we boarded the ship (and even that wasn't unpleasant..just crowded) and 2) the deck party. Neither time was unbearable...couldn't be because we're going back this Easter break!!

:):):)

The only crowding for us that was frustrating was before we left port, where the Mickey pool was wall-to-wall kids and parents, and the lunchtime buffet had no place to sit once you got your food. After that, we never had a problem. Loved the trip anyway, and can't wait to do it again!

On a sold out cruise in July and the sail away party was crowded but I saw it as a good thing - not crowded like New Years at the parks - just "fun" crowded - dancing and singing. For example, was there a long wait for a drink at the bar??? - no, maybe, two people - PERFECT! I've been "park crowded" and this ISN"T it!
Don't give it a second thought!

I'm the worst when it comes to avoiding going places because of crowds. We sailed spring break at full capacity last year, and will do it again in a heartbeat.

A full ship crowd is not anything like crowds at WDW.

We just returned from the 02/14 and we found the mickey and family pools way too busy. I could only imagine if the weather was perfect and everyone wanted to be in the water. That was my only bad moment on the ship, kids were on top of each other and at times hard to stay above water. This was our first cruise and I am sure every other ship is the same. The adult pool, which I understand Disney is the only one with it, was very quite. They rest of the ship was great, never knew there were so many on board. Enjoy

The only time it felt crowded was the night of St. Thomas. I was in the atrium as the 6:30 dinner was getting started and felt overwhelmed by the number of people there. It seemed that between the shows, the photo ops, the characters, the stores and dinner, everyone on the ship was there at that minute.

But other than that, it was fine. If I ever felt crowded, I just went ot my verandah.

The only times that we felt crowded were 1) the embarkation day at the Kiddie Pool and 2) the Day at Sea on the Top & Pool Decks. All other times it was a pleasant surprise to not be crowded. Even at Sold Out Capacity the ship is nowhere near as crowded as the parks.
The Sail Away Celebration should not be missed(especially for the kids) and you would have thought that it would have been elbow to elbow, but it wasn't. Get right in the middle of it and HAVE FUN.
