Tell me the FIRST thing you're gonna do when you go to DL

As soon as we pass under the tunnel & we stop to take it all in :lovestruc, we head to the Haunted Mansion. It's goes totally unsaid......that's just where we head. 93 days!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

I'm gonna run and get a Space FP and meet everyone else over at Indy!

First City Hall then, don't now why...but we always do Jungle Cruise first I mean in the 10+ trips we have done to DL it is always JC.. Then FP Indy then on to POTC.. from there we usually wing it! :)

We normally get there about lunchtime on a weekday so we head for the Red Cart first. It's the absolute only time I eat a corn dog. lol

The rest of the trip it just depends on who gets to pick the first ride. If it's my choice, it's usually Space Mountain. If the kid gets to choose it's normally Indy. Unless of course it's a MM day. Then we do Peter Pan. lol

Ok, so I saw this thread and wondered myself what I would do first and I just couldn't come up with anything. I'm a former obsessive planner that would normally jet right over to Fantasyland and do Peter Pan, Dumbo or Nemo first. But now I think I'd just cruise down Main Street and take it all in.

We stay no less than 3 days and travel off season so there isn't that need for feeling rushed...we get to everything with little wait times.

HOWEVER, while thinking about this question I HAD to ask my daughter (8) and her answer was SHOPPING!!! I never laughed so hard!! She says, "what mom? They have good stuff there!" AGAIN, I bust up!! I think I'm in trouble!!

I'm not totally sure what we're doing first this time...it will be our first trip with a toddler and I don't know how he will react to everything. Between the crowds, noise, and characters, we'll just have to see what he thinks of DL! Our current plan of attack is to start at Peter Pan and then hit up Dumbo to guage his reaction. He's pretty adventurous, but it might be sensory overload! He'll probably like the crazier rides, but just in case, we'll start small.

DD had a blast during her first DL trip (age 4). We're trying to get her to ride BTMRR and Matterhorn (she's a bit of a scaredy cat). BTMRR has always been my favorite non-kiddie ride at DL and I hope she will enjoy it as much as I do. We might start at one of those two on day 2 before heading to DCA. Mother-in-law is coming along with us, so we'll have an extra adult to swap around on those kinds of rides.

We're all so excited! This will be our first time going for more than 2 days (we're going for 3 with the armed forces salute tickets). DD can't wait and DS just keeps saying "Mo Moush" (mickey mouse)! Mother-in-law has only ever been to WDW and has been dying to ride the teacups forever. She was supposed to come with us in '06, but was unable at the last minute. I'm excited for her to finally get to experience DL!

ROFL!!! Ok first..what changed your obsessive planning??!!

Second, I totally died laughing at your DD! That is HILARIOUS. Watch out, wallet ;)

jojo&goliath, those first trips with toddlers can be so much fun! We went when my DD was 18 months old and another time when our GS was 15 months old. They both had such a great time. It is so amazing watching them experience the park for the first time. Have a fantastic trip!

If the popcorn at DL is half as good as WDW I'll be in good shape for my vacation.

But maybe NOT so great shape after your vacation???? :rotfl2: If the only things you are eating are popcorn and dole whips????

Thanks for the input. He'll be 21 months when we go, so he'll be old enough to appreciate some things, but possibly freaked out by giant characters. The fact that we watch a lot of Disney movies might make the characters less scary, though, since he'll recognize them. I guess we'll soon find out! :thumbsup2

I seriously couldn't stop laughing myself.

I think my obsession has been tamed by both age and the amount of time I plan to spend there. Enough so I know I don't have to rush :)

On this trip, we will get there in the middle of Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend. Last trip, DD was sick and was under the stress of trying to just function while we tried to make up for lost time. This time, we are going to STROLL up Main Street, looking, listening, taking pictures, enjoying! I think the first ride we will do is the train ride, all around the park. She missed it last time! :thumbsup2

The train ride is a tradition for us as well! I hope that my ds4 will have fun on it and get a good "feel" for the park. He has been once before but was only 18 months old at the time. It will be dd's 1st trip so we want to get her a button too. I think we will do the "grand circle tour" and then go to get her button and then up mainstreet to fantasyland.

The first thing I do is stand under the bridge thing, take a look around and think to myself "I'm finally here!"

I know the feeling. :) For even though I live much closer from yourself, still sometimes, even then, it can feel like it takes forever to make it back to visit Dl.

My DD(7) loves the Main St. vehicles
Omni bus first
then whoever is waiting at the castle end

we do all four, but always the Omni bus first.

On her first trip (3 1/2)
we walked into Fantasyland and I asked her
What do you want to ride first?
The Carousel...

happy riding everyone
