Tell me something I DONT know

Wow - lots of interesting (and some sad  ) life notes!
Here's a few of mine:

Was a volunteer for 7 months inside Ground Zero,
and also at the MEO (morgue - outside tent), Nov. 2nd to May 30th.
God bless the firefighters, police, & construction workers,
I'll never forget you!

Was a literacy tutor when I had the time (before DS).

Stared down the barrels of about 20 guns,
all shapes & sizes, held by members of a gang,
as they held me in their sights - praise God I lived to tell about it.
Edited: I had prefaced the word 'gang' with their ethnic make-up,
and couldn't sleep thinking I may unintentionally offend someone.
So, I removed it as it has no current bearing on this thread
(but, it did when the incident occurred).

First 5th grader in umpteen years to win the
National Spelling Bee on the local level at my
elementary school (competition was only
between 5th & 6th graders). I was 'thisclose' to moving
on to the state level, it was a nice time in my young life.

I write poetry, but haven't been inspired in a while,
(lack of sleep doesn't help - although maybe it should?).

I rescued and performed CPR on an elderly drowning victim. We revived him, he made it to the hospital, and lived another 6 years. To this day, I get a card, every year from his wife, on the anniversary of the day we pulled him out of the ocean.

I have a few to share:

My step-mother's sister taught Brad Pitt in high school.

My BIL worked with Kevin Costner's Dad for years and remembers how excited he was when Kevin got his first movie roll.

My Dad has been Mr. California for the last 4 years - he is a body builder and 64 years old.

I sculpt little fairies and fantasy creatures and I know this may sound dumb but it makes me feel a little closer to Walt Disney when I do it - he has been my idol since I was old enough to know who he was.

Here is one of my little creatures ( a winter angel):

Wow, your angel is beautiful! Do you have a website? I collect fairies and would love to see some of yours!

Thank you so much, I just love making them. I don't have a website but I hope to soon.

Have a great day,
Kelley

I was a Munchkin when I was 10
I won a disco dance contest (years ago of course :teeth: )

my sister (aunt lissa) almost cut the toes off of one of my feet when we were little! this is one of the reasons they dont put sliding doors on razors anymore!!!
