Wow - lots of interesting (and some sad

) life notes!
Here's a few of mine:
Was a volunteer for 7 months inside Ground Zero,
and also at the MEO (morgue - outside tent), Nov. 2nd to May 30th.
God bless the firefighters, police, & construction workers,
I'll never forget you!
Was a literacy tutor when I had the time (before DS).
Stared down the barrels of about 20 guns,
all shapes & sizes, held by members of a gang,
as they held me in their sights - praise God I lived to tell about it.
Edited: I had prefaced the word 'gang' with their ethnic make-up,
and couldn't sleep thinking I may unintentionally offend someone.
So, I removed it as it has no current bearing on this thread
(but, it did when the incident occurred).
First 5th grader in umpteen years to win the
National Spelling Bee on the local level at my
elementary school (competition was only
between 5th & 6th graders). I was 'thisclose' to moving
on to the state level, it was a nice time in my young life.
I write poetry, but haven't been inspired in a while,
(lack of sleep doesn't help - although maybe it should?).
