I'm hoping to snag a *GT rate for August 27 2016 on Fantasy. However looking at current GTs it's not looking great. I'm curious to hear stories from people who made note of a rate of a cruise they wanted, held out until *GT rates came out, and scored a deal. I'm talking less than the rate the cruise was when they first decided to look. Anyone?

Well, we held out for the WBPC cruise. We were starting to get CRAZY NERVOUS as we were about 9 weeks away from the sailing and my partner already took leave. They ended up offering an MTO discount and we used that since we qualify. By the way, the "discount" was still more than what it was when we first looked (opening day) but we could not commit that far out since we are a military family. It was less than the current posted rate, but not nearly as low as the opening day prices.

And I would NOT hold out on a cruise the weekend before Labor Day weekend. People will be extending trips on both sides of the holiday. I mean, if its just a "hey, if it shows up, cool" thing, hold out. But if your family is set on that sailing...I am not sure I would hold out.

Don't you find it ironic that the military rates are on short notice, but most military folks cannot GO on short notice and have to hope that they can even get leave to go on the cruise. That to me is a real head shaker.
Thank your partner (and you as well) for your service. :)
