i just cancelled our ADR at Captains Grille & booked Chefs de France......we will be at HS that day so we needed somewhere sort of close. The reviews & menu of Chefs de France sound good (really surprised we haven't gone there yet!) Did I make a good choice?

Well, we have not eaten at Chefs de France, but we did eat at Captain's Grille and had a pretty lackluster experience. I can't imagine we'd go there again. Soooo, between the two, I'd certainly try Chefs de France - we always like to try new things!

We've always enjoyed Chefs de France. Their creme brulee is sooooo good!!

Happy dining!

I really like Chefs de France. Their lobster bisque soup is really good. The ambiance is nice too, you can people watch everyone walking by there are huge windows all along the restaurant. It is in Epcot so make sure you have a park hopper ticket otherwise you won't be able to get to the restaurant. Enjoy!

Thank you!
I feel like all my dinning options are great now - Captains Grille was standing out as the 'eh'! Yes, we do have hoppers. So our ADRs are:
OHana
Chefs de France
Biergarten
Turf Club
Boma
Gardn Grill

Less than 2 weeks!!!!!!

Logistically, your choice is basically the same. France is not that far away from Captain's Grille.

Food wise, we prefer France over Captain's Grill.

Given a choice for dinner, we'd even chose the buffet at Cape May (and we don't generally like buffets) over Captain's Grille.

But I also point out that our favorite restaurant is BlueZoo and it's between HS & Boardwalk.....just sayin'.....

Watch this DIS podcast on their review of the Capt. Grill. He might have a "slight" distain for it... Chefs de France all the way.

We've eaten at both multiple times and I'd switch back to Capt. Grille. I find the food at Chefs overly salted. Capt. Grille has been consistently good.

I don't find Chefs de France particularly close to DHS.
But I think is is a good choice. Leave yourself plenty of time to get there and go through bag check and security again.

I've only eaten at Captain's Grille for breakfast; but have no desire to ever return. I just didn't like the atmosphere. I do, however, very much like dining at Chefs de France. We've dined here every vacation since 2006. There's just something about those wrap-around windows that draw me in, especially at night when the soft yellow lighting emits from them. My favorites are the French baguettes, Lobster Bisque and Crème Brûlée. Consistently delicious every single time. The broiled salmon entree was lovely when we were there in September.

We skipped Chefs de France every trip because I am not a big fan of that cuisine. DW wanted to go there on her birthday trip last visit, so she got to choose. It was absolutely great. From the service to the food. Sorry we didn't give it a chance sooner. You will not regret the choice.
