Karaoke Artists Take the Stage in True Rock Star Form with Back-Up Singers and a Full Band

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 13, 2008) – If you love the thrill of karaoke, the warmth of the spotlight or just want to show off, you have what it takes to be a “rising star.” Tapping into one of the nation’s hottest trends, Universal Orlando Resort elevates karaoke to a whole new level with the addition of CityWalk’s Rising Star. The new venue features karaoke with a twist, where performing guests will be introduced to screaming audiences by an emcee and take center stage as they sing with a full live band and back-up singers.

This fresh, new take on a favorite social pastime gives even the most amateur karaoke fans a taste of musical fame as they belt out their favorite songs either solo or with a group of friends. CityWalk’s Rising Star will offer guests the same compelling stage performance experience every night of the week with a host and back-up vocalists, and five nights a week with a full band (Tuesday – Saturday). Whether you’re a table of two or here with a larger group or party, CityWalk’s Rising Star offers something for the music lover in everyone. The club’s diverse song list is packed with rock ‘n’ roll, country, hip-hop and other popular classics from several decades.

CityWalk’s Rising Star will reside in the location made famous by CityJazz, which will close on Sunday, March 16 and re-emerge on Friday, March 21 offering the excitement of karaoke and other entertainment.

There isn't enough booze on the planet. I couldn't carry a tune if it had a handle.:rotfl:

I can only think of one thing worse than being on the stage in a karaoke club ... and that's being in the audience!!

A lot of shots. I can sing but there's no way I could get up in front of all those people unless I was under the influence. But the whole concept sounds like fun. :)

My father sings and he and my mom do Karaoke for a couple of local clubs from time to time. They've got a ton of equipment and thousands of song disks. So dh and I go from time to time and while a good majority of those singing, really aren't very good, but they are having a good time, you would be surprised at some of the singers we have heard. There's usually one at each event who is surprisingly good. Last time we went to the Fireman's Club on our lake and there was a regular guy who sounded like Garth Brooks. . . not just a little . . . almost dead on :worship: He was the best singer I've ever heard outside of professionals. He was home on leave from Iraq and we had so much fun that night. . . what I remember anyway

My oldest bro sings too. . .but it's usually painful on my end of things. My mom just spins the disks and keeps things going (of course) cept for when my dad sings Tequila makes her clothes fall off. . . .she has this gag where she ducks behind the equipment and flings out articles of clothing, then comes out wrapped in a table cloth. . . :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I spit a giant mouthful of beer the first time I saw her do it. . . beer went all over a total stranger and dh tried to make me go home. . . :confused3 it was funny. . . my mom, not the spitting of the beer. The stranger thought it was funny too because I guess the look on my face was just a funny as my momma strolling out in a table cloth plus the beer came out my nose too

Karaoke can be a great time!

The club is now open to the public.

Joey Fatone (NBC's "The Singing Bee", Dancing With The Stars, *NSYNC) was just there and sang a couple songs.
