Last year we stayed at POFQ for a couple nights and I loved it... This year we are taking an impromptu trip in 10 days. POFQ was not available for AP rate but POR was. Please tell me all the good things about this resort! We have a 3 year old and 1 year old and we will have our own transportation so we don't have to take the bus!

Or do you recommend me to try and switch to POFQ by calling everyday to check?

Thanks! Wendy

What building should I request? I want to be close to the food court and pool (if we can use it). I don't care about bus stops. Plus I want the mansion section not the AB.

Wendy,
I am sure you will love POR. It is our favorite resort. It is so spacious and the theming is great. The quiet pools are one of the things we really like because there isn't as much of a crowd. I would try for Parterre Place, it is close to the food court, etc. while also the closest to POFQ. You can always visit POFQ, the walk over to it is lovely.
Have fun!

Hi,

We are staying @ POR in April and hve requested connecting rooms, has anyone any information on these rooms? What section or do all sections have rooms that connect?

Thanks,

MT

MT,
We have stayed at some if not all of the mansions and in AB and have always had connecting rooms. Hope this helps.

We have stayed at both French Quarter in July 2001 and Riverside in July 2003, we plan to stay in French Quarter again July 2005. There are no complaints from our family. WE LOVE THEM BOTH!!!

We are staying at POR in June, so I have been trying to read up a lot on this resort. I have seen a lot of places that say to stay in Bldg 14 of the AB area, it is the closest to everything. If you go to allearsnet.com you will see a pictorial and a map of the resort. Let us know how it is after your vacation.

We stayed at POR a couple weekends ago. It has become our favorite. There is so much to do there. We spent all day Saturday just at the resort.

I know POR has at least one hot tub. I don't remember correctly if they have two but I know they have one very comfy hot tub. A great place to unwind after a day at the parks!

Thanks Nikki...we'll be there in one week...and regardless of weather we will be relaxing in the tub!

We stayed in Magnolia Terrace. It was across a foot bridge to Old Man Island (Theme Pool) and across another footbridge to the Main Building. We faced the river.

Even though you have a vehicle I would suggest the bus system. We took our children on the busses at 2 1/2 yrs. and 5 yrs. old. They enjoyed the ride and it made it easier to come and go as we pleased rather than parking, trams and monorail/boats just to get to the Magic Kingdom.

Have fun!!! :goodvibes

I would definately do a bus if I didn't have 2 strollers to carry with us...

I see. ::yes::

I always forget that DH had a thing about strollers and we never took one. He carried DS most of the time and I kept up with DD.

It is the slow time of the year (when we ususlly go) and I have seen many strollers on the busses also. I understand your reluctance though, which ever works for you of course is best. It might be worth a try.

Wish I were going with you.

We are going in the summer for the first time ever and expect a very different vacation. DD (now 16) would like to go now. :p

Have fun!! :wave2:

We did it with 2 strollers(one full size and one double) and three kids(3,2, and 5mo.) We drove one day and trying to get the strollers and kids on the parking lot trams was WAY worse than the busses. Everyone was really nice to us on the busses and very helpful. I would reccomend taking the busses. You'll be surprised how most people are really great about the extra time it takes. :hourglass This year we are only taking one full size stroller since we are now bringing 4 kids.(4,3, 2 and 4 months.) We'll rent a double at the park.

It does help as we are getting in late and now that I know the connecting rooms are not so scarce I won't worry about it. We are so excited to stay at this resort after reading all the good things about it! On my list of things to do before I die is to try each of the WDW resort at least once. May take a while as we must trade off WDW w/ cruising, which is my Husbands favorite
way to vacation.

Thanks again,

MT
