My kids are wanting to take a trip and dh says to plan one for spring break. I am expecting crowds, but have never even considered going during this time. The only time we could go next year would be the Monday before Easter and return the Saturday before Easter. Should I go? Why or why not?

I would guess it is going to be VERY crowded. Schools in NJ are typically closed the week after Easter. Since Easter is late this year we are off the week before, I would like there are alot of schools like that. I would wait until summer if you can.

I'm going over spring break. I've done it before and while it's crowded, it's still Disney World. I'm a teacher, so my choices were Christmas break or spring break and as I sit here in the middle of a blizzard with the local airports closed, I'm very glad that I made the decision that I did.

We are snowed in too, and I still would rather wait until April. Longer park hours, warm weather so that the kids can swim :goodvibes We will have a plan, hit the parks early then head back to POP to relax. We can't wait till Spring in Disney:hippie:

I suspect it will be crowded but we will be there too :) I love to go that time of year because it is warm enough to swim but not oppressively hot. Also the Flower and Garden Festival is beautiful.

I made my dining adr's at the 180 mark, and just for fun I went into the reservations page to see if I could get Ohana...weren't planning on it, but changed our minds and there it was a 4:50 dinner for April 21st!!!!! There was also a 6:30 opening?!?! Maybe it won't be so bad after all?????

I checked for dining too and virtually everything was still open. Almost seems like it won't be crowded after all?!

I had the same experience. We'll be there during that week and making dining reservations was really easy! :woohoo:

But, I would still mentally prepare for large crowds.

We love Easter - go every year (teacher). The weather is wonderful. Shorts everyday and it has never rained on us (knock on wood).

It is crowded but very managable - have a rough plan, make ADR's, use fastpasses, and #1 go into it knowing you can not do everything - take your time.

Flower and garden festival is also great at Easter.

Have a wonderful trip.

I had the same experience with making dining reservations for the week before Easter and I am making reservations for 15 people! I got Boma, Ohana (dinner), Tusker House (breakfast), Sci Fi (late lunch), Chefs de France (late lunch), Via Napoli (dinner), Restaurant Akershus (dinner), Raglan Road (dinner) and Coral Reef (dinner). I was shocked especially with Ohana which I only booked last week.

Of course, the airfare is so expensive that we still haven't purchased it so hopefully we don't end up having to cancel them all!

I found decent priced flights out of Manchester(NH). Half of our group is from NH and the other half is from NJ. We're going to drive to NH, stay a couple of days and then all fly out together. Compared with the prices to fly out of Newark, I'll happily make the drive.

We go in Spring but the week of Easter is out of the ? for us. The closer to Easter it is a madhouse. So many kids out for Spring Break. No thx.
