I am thinking about getting some but I wanted to see how many like it or do not like it.
Good Bad and the Ugly please. Also recommendations.

Ok...SO this is a boring subject.......

Can't ANYONE help me?????? There has to be SOMEONE out there who has silicone bakeware.

My mom gave us a silcone cookie sheet for Christmas. The cookies did not stick at all. I swore I could smell melting plastic while the first batch was the oven, but my DH said it was my imagination. They tasted fine.

I like mine. I have 9x9, loaf, bundt, muffin (a couple)....not sure what brand they are. Have had them for years. Most came in a pack from costco, I believe. A couple were gifts.
I also use Silpat sheets for baking on cookie sheets......love, love those.

I love, love, love my cookie sheets. I use those the most. When I'm baking cookies, I have four that I rotate (cool) and it works perfect.

I only piece that I have that I'm not crazy about is a mini muffin pan. The cookies turned out wider and shallower than with the metal pans.

I like the cupcake pans, they are big enough turn inside out to brush/wash and get all the batter out. Not so much the individual cupcake cups. I got those b/c I always have enough batter left over to do like 3 more cupcakes or muffins, and thought this would be easier than another pan. The little frills hold the batter and are tough to clean.

I have a loaf and don´t like it. It´s too soft, so that the dough actually pushes the sides outwards and my bread gets funny in shape.

I got a small brownie size one and made the brownies. They tasted odd so I threw it all out.

My sister uses the cookie sheet liner deal and that worked great.

My mom has used them when they first came out however she is back to using her old stuff.

I tried silicone bakeware but couldn't get past the smell, even after using the muffin pans several times. The first couple of times it even smoked. I like my stoneware much better.

I have a small muffin pan, 8x8 square pan, and 8 inch round cake pans.

I almost never use the cake pans because they tend to be too floppy in the oven- the cake batter bows out the sides of the pan. Plus, it is hard to get the full pans in the oven without them being too floppy and spilling/almost spilling their contents.

I am OK with the 8x8 pan, but it tends to also be a little floppy getting into the oven. Things like bar cookies and brownies come out of the pan after baking really well, though.

I use the muffin pan the most. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that the top of the pan (the areas between the actual muffin cups) gets really gummy- I think it is from the Pam I spray on the pan. The residue that gets on the top gets really gunky and gummy and is really hard to get off.

OK thanks...guess I will just stick to my silicone spatulas!!!

I always wondered about the floppiness. They seem so floppy with nothing in them. I don't think I could get one into the oven without it turning inside out or folding on itself while trying to get it into the oven. :upsidedow  :headache:

I have some and hate it. It seems to bake things at a different rate than the standard metal kind. I do rely heavily on timing things, it is possible that someone with more skill would have more success. Things don't stick though.

I have several and I don't like them. I was told not to use non-stick spray on them as it will leave a residue but as a result all my stuff sticks. (I use grease/flour method.) I do however have silpat sheets and LOVE those. Totally different though. Like apples and oranges.

Any advice for the sticking issue or do I just go with the spray and so be it?
