Tell me about your last minute booking??

We are buying DVC this week or next. We get 160 developer pts which we want to use before I return to work from maternity leave (I go back Jan 2nd)

So...is it realistic to think we will be able to book something, anything between now and the end of the year at a DVC??

If you are flexible in your dates and don't mind taking whatever is available, you might be able to get something (probably at OKW or SSR).

I'd recommend getting on the phone asap to try and start looking at options of when to go.

I'd take the discount vs developer points if you are going to have a tough time using them if you can't get anything before the end of the year - and it will be difficult. Your DVC Guide may be able to work some magic for you getting a reservation, but I wouldn't count on it. From Oct to early Jan is an extremely busy time for DVC. There is just so much going on and either the points are low or it's a holiday time.

I also think it will be very difficult to find more than 2 or 3 days together at the same resort in the same type of room if you want to go between now and January 2.

If it were me, I'd take the discount unless the guide could somehow guarantee/make a reservation for you with the developer points.

We actually get BOTH dev. pts and the discount! I guess I can always take time off without pay if we cant get a ressie....

I called MS a few weeks ago while at Vero Beach. The weather was awful and we toyed with the idea of going back to Orlando and just forfeiting our VB points.
They had 1 Bedrooms available at SS that same day. We decided to ride out the storm at VB, but there was availability at SS for that day and the following two.

I think you'll get something at SSR (there seems to always be availability here), or OKW if you are flexible with dates. JMHO, but if it were me, I'd certainly try. Good luck and have fun!
