My DH loved his Blackberry, too, until I got my iPhone, then he couldn't wait to get one, too. As soon as he was able, he made the move, and he was like a kid in a candy shop. I hadn't seen him that excited about a piece of technology since we got our first computer in the 90s.

As for me, I was coming from the most basic phone available - it didn't even text. Nor did I have an iPod. I've really enjoyed all the features it has to offer, and I find it very easy to use, which is a big plus.

Until I got my iphone I didn't see what all the hype was about but I love it now and can't imagine using anything else. It just so simple to use, the touchscreen is awesome, the apps selection is great plus the iphone plan was cheaper than the BB plan for us.

I've heard "horror" stories from other people about having all of their information (contacts, music, etc) wiped from their phones. Is there a way to back everything up?

Yes, you use iTunes to back up. You tell it exactly what to back up, and then if you get a new iPhone, you can have it sync with the backup of your old phone, so you don't lose anything.
