So tell me about your first week of september trip, how was it crowd wise, heat, ect

I went Sept 11th-15th last year and it was awesome! I know people talk about how Sept is becoming more crowded, but I'm a teacher and used to going over breaks from school - I felt like it was relatively empty. Last year Rosh Hoshanah was on a Monday, so I took a 1/2 day Friday and a full day off on Tuesday, and it was one of my favorite trips of all time because the crowds were so low. My husband and I decided we would rather take shorter trips around 3 day weekends in the future rather than travel during spring break/summer break.

It's not like we could walk on Space Mountain at 1 PM, but we had buses to ourselves, any seat we wanted at the pool, and plenty of elbow/walking room. The crowds were also slower to build after rope drop. We rode Soarin' twice in a row with no wait at rope drop one morning. Another morning at Magic Kingdom, we walked onto Splash twice and Big Thunder twice, and we could have continued that pattern until about 10:30 AM had we wanted to. It was definitely warm, but no worse than summer at home. By September, your body is acclimated to heat and humidity, so the weather won't be as shocking as it would be in say, June. (just my theory - no actual science to back that up!)

The only disadvantages of this time were shorter park hours and potential for downpours (we only had 2 or 3 short lived storms over 4 days). We definitely took advantage of EMH when offered since they extended the shorter hours.

Thats great to hear I am going 9/2-9/10 my kids are going to miss the first 2 days back to school but I am guessing it'll be well worth it. I am super excited and hating the wait LoL

We haven't been since 2010 and I get the impression things have changed crowd wise ;) but for us, our first week in Sept. trips have been fantastic. Yes, incredibly INCREDIBLY hot, but we have never waited in a line longer than 10 minutes- so much has changed with the FP+ and all of that so I really don't know what to expect. When we went the 1st week of Sept. in 2008 there was a hurricane scare (we ended up with not a drop of rain in 10 days) and the crowds were so low it was eerie, they were not even running the FP machines at all for multiple days because there were not enough crowds to even use FP, and most rides for the entire day either said 0 or 5 minutes. Again, this was before the New Fantasyland, and the increased crowds I keep hearing about- but we will be there 9/2-9/11 and I am curious how it will be! We have had some incredibly packed crowds at Disneyland, so I think we can manage no matter what happens.

We went September of 2014. It was definitely hot! But we are use to going Spring break since I am a teacher so the place almost felt like a ghost town compared to that! It did rain everyday...and not just always a passing shower. Hours are also cut.

If I could take more time, we would go back in September but I am given only 3 personal days and I can't use them adjacent t a holiday so that limits us to really only 3-4 days in the park with travel.

This year, with the early Halloween party and the slightly later Labor Day, I'd expect it to still be pretty busy through Labor Day...and REALLY hot and humid (not Christmas busy, but then again, if Disney tries to "right staff", you could have waits not determined by the number of people in the park)...the days after Labor Day should be really light...

This is a decent time to go if you have kids I feel or are a teacher. You either have to play off heat, crowds or worse heat and crowds. At least early September it's starting to cool, the crowds drop and you get the MNSSHP now. This is our favorite event it is so much fun. Usually the prices for the ticket is a bit lower for September too. If you do go consider not getting a park entry that day to make it more cost effective. You can enter the park at 4pm. Catch some dinner maybe and enjoy the party. Morning by the pool!

Enjoy! We like to cruise DCL september also. Prices start to drop.

It was hot & humid (High 80's to low 90's). It was overcast the entire week, not much sun. Spotty rain everyday. We only had one day that the rain stayed on and off all day.

We used to always go the first week of Sept. It's very hot, humid, and often rainy, however the crowds are generally low. We never experienced just walking onto rides, however we almost never waited more than 15-20 mins. (always fastpassed headliners). I will say that we did notice a difference in our wait times before/after Fastpass+...things that we used to only wait maybe 5 mins for in Sept. (Pirates, HM, Small World etc.), we are now consistently waiting more like 15-20, which is frustrating since we know what it used to be like lol. If you can deal with the heat/humidity and don't mind getting a little wet, then the first week of Sept. is a good time to go in our opinion.

We always get there before/on Labor Day. It's always HOT and humid. It can get rainy but only afternoon storms that rarely last more than 30 minutes. Last year, it was way more crowded than our previous years but it was still very manageable with low wait times. We are going 5-12 this year.

What do you all think of doing MNSSHP this early? We saw that the military discount nights are only in September - as early as Sept. 2 - and were thinking of going before my daughter goes back to school after Labor Day. But I was thinking that it won't feel very "Halloweeny" yet. Especially if it's still crazy hot and humid!
