Tell me about your double stroller (spin off thread)

I recently had another thread going about the Combi Twin Savvy, but it was too specific I think. I need lots of opinions on double strollers, and here's what I'm hoping to find-
*Price $300 max (the cheaper the better, we don't really have this money but what are you gonna do... I'd rather pay it once and love the stroller than buy two or more because they didn't work out)
*Must have a fully reclining seat, and should preferrably accommodate a Graco Snugride infant car seat
*Must fold easily (not necessarily compactly, but that would be great)
*In addition to a fully reclining seat, the other seat should recline enough for my two year old to nap without his head getting all kinked up
*Must be easy to maneuver and get through doorways- this is where I can't decide between a side by side and a tandem
*I am 5'9, so I don't want to be hunched over or kicking wheels all the time
*Storage should be easily accessible and ample, but these are secondary to most of the things mentioned above
*It should still be easy enough to manage even as my kids get older/heavier, although I realize that it will naturally be more difficult than before

So tell me why you love/hate your stroller and what you wish you knew before buying. I would also like to know about your experiences at WDW (or travelling in general) with a double stroller- could you get from point a to point b easily enough, and were most places able to accommodate such a large stroller? I know there are tons of stroller threads out there, so thanks for taking the time to help me out!

I don't think there is such a thing as the "perfect stroller". Most moms I know have a fleet with different strollers for different purposes. I don't like SBS, but I don't like F&B either. Sometimes a single stroller and a sling works best. The stroller I loved last year became really annoying this year as my guys got bigger.

Good luck finding something that will work for your family!

I actually had a Graco Front/Back from 3 years ago (DD4/DS3) we bought it right before the parent tray became a standard feature. (I never could understand that, 2 kids two hands, duh needs a parent tray more than the single stroller :earboy2: )Anyway I ran across the newer Graco model that was on clearance this past spring for only $60 so I bought it and sold my old one for $65. I made $5 and got my parent tray/cupholders. My life is now so much easier. My newly 4yo doesn't always want to be in the stroller anymore so I took the tray off for her and then she will ask to get out and walk periodically or somedays she will sit and color or play with her Barbies. I really like my new Graco and I liked my old Graco, the only downside was no parent tray. Oh ya the new one also has the one hand folding, which is really easy to work. I would recommend my stroller and I am sure that my sis would too as she just had a baby in Jan. and bought the same clearance stroller to use with her infant and 2yo. The infant carrier worked great in it. We have both been very happy with them. I think the original cost on it was $130??? Good luck!

The Duoglider is our top choice right now, so it's good to hear that you like it. Any cons about it? How is it to push with your older children in it? Where did you find it on clearance? Do you take it to the mall/crowded/tight places, and how does it fare? Thanks again!

My only con would be that every once in awhile the wheels will squeak, but is easily fixed with some WD40. As for pushing with the older kids it definitley gets a little harder to push as the kids get older, but that is to be expected as I am currently pushing around approx 75lbs... I take go the the mall pretty frequently and have no problems getting around(BTW, the storage area fits a lot of packages :teeth: ). Some places are a little too narrow to fit the back wheels through, but I had that same problem with my single stroller too. I would definitley recommend it to anyone and the price is very reasonable. I found my stroller at Target. I know Ebay had a lot of the similar strollers for good prices too, just make sure you check the shipping. Good luck and feel free to PM if you have any other questions.

I hated my double stroller. It was a side by side umbrella stroller (was blue and said Jeep on it). I bought it because I was flying alone with the kids and needed something for the airport. It worked well for that. But for everything else it was horrible. First of all, it had no storage at all. Second of all, it was super heavy pushing both kids. Third of all and worst of all, it was so wide we could not fit it through doors, aisles, etc. At the time it was all I could afford though (about $80). I think the duoglider would have been much easier for me.

What I did like about it - both seats reclined and had sun canopies over them, and it was easy to fold and unfold.

We only used the stroller a couple months and then sold it in the front yard LOL.

Thanks Laura, I looked briefly at the Jeep ones, both the tandem and side by sides seemed like a pain, now I know for sure! Keep em coming everyone!
