Tell Me about Your 50's Primetime Cafe meal

We went there last May and had the BEST server- it was a guy, so his name was Cousin something.

We were seated at a table of 2 next to a larger table with a family of six. The server said we were there cousins. He mostly picked on this big burly guy at the other table. The guy had a bunch of tattoos and the server told him he shouldn't draw on himself. :teeth: He made the guy stand up and sing I'm a little teapot and when he wouldn't finish the song, he stood in the corner on a time out.

We kept talking and laughing about the server when he left so at one point we look out the window and there he is outside the restaurant looking in saying "I'm watching you!". OMG it was so funny.

We've never had a waiter/waitress who was really "into" the whole experience, but we have still enjoyed our meals there. Last trip, DH had a loaded cheeseburger which looked great; my mother and I split the chicken dinner since it comes with 3 pieces; the kids had mac n cheese and chicken strips meal.

We have always been too full for dessert, but I want to try the smores sometime.

We just love the atmosphere---I feel like I'm in my great-grandma's kitchen.

HA HA... We are planning on eating here next month and my Dad hates (did I say HATES) Green beans... He will not eat them... SO I am going to let them bring them out and see what he does... I think this will be soooo funny..... We are planning on going in a large group and we are not going to tell some of the group whats going on... My dad is a hoot and he loves to pick at people so I think this is going to be great.... If you ask for someone good will they give you a really good server??? Thanks for all the info.... I think I am going to suggest mom and I share something so we will have room for dessert

Oh I love Prime Time! I eat there everytime we go. Try the pot roast, it's awesome. Last time my now husband had to wear a little mermaid bib b/c he was making too much of a mess. I've always lucked out with the servers really being in to their job!

Last time we went was over 5 years ago, however I remeber them making my SIL sing the tea pot song. I was almost peeing my pants and I will never forget the daggers she shot me.... opps. lol

I have been here a number of times. I have had good meals and lots of fun each time. Each "cousin" we had were fun and corrected for elbows, hats on in "the house" and not eating veggies. Of course I was GOOD kid lol :rotfl2:

I've only eaten there once and won't go back. We went last May, party of 8 and secured ADRs for 4:00 since that was the only time before 8:30 pm they would seat us all together. When we showed up 10 minutes to 4:00 the hostess asked us why we were there so early and then said she didn't think she could seat us together. I went through the whole schpeel about taking the 4:00 just for that and got the ever so irritating eye roll (I could strangle a person when they do that.)

When we were finally served all together our cousin was nice and responsive to our request but we could have been in a Denny's for all the personality he had. The food was okay but not great. The vegetable soup looked and tasted like Campbell's. I had a pasta dish that was not very good. The two kids ordered mac and cheese, my SIL had the greasiest chicken in the world (greasier than KFC) and the rest had meatloaf they were happy with.

It was really a disappointing meal from beginning to end because none of us had been before and we heard such great reviews. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. Out of our entire stay and the 8 TS meals we had this was the only stinker.

I think it's hit or miss whether you get a good server or not. If ours isn't particularly funny, we just watch the surrounding tables. If you don't have a good experience here, I would recommend trying it again. Last time we were there, we were off in a section with a couple of other tables. Our "cousin" was very focused on who ate their green beens and who didn't finish their plates. When he left the room, we all switched family members with the other tables and when he came back, all uneaten food was either relocated or gone. We played it cool and acted like nothing had changed. The look on his face was priceless. The deadpan faces of all "family" members could have won us an award. Even the little ones were playing along. The laughter was so loud from our area throughout the evening, people were polking their heads in during the entire time, wondering what was so funny. PTC is our favorite restaurant at MGM.

That is a riot!. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

We usually eat here when were at MGM. Seems to be the one place we continually return to. I know there's something on the menu that please's everyone.

We've had servers that are wonderful, servers that are off the wall and servers that are just OK.

As far as the food goes it's OK, not great, not bad just OK.

The fried chicken, meatloaf, pork tenderloin and the pot roast seem to be the dishes we enjoy. We have tried a few of the other dishes while some are OK others aren't that great. I did not like the chicken pot pie.

Three years ago we had a great server named Carlos. We were there with our 2 older grandchildren. I had meatloaf, DH Pot roast, GS fried chicken and GD chicken fingers. Food was good this night. Boy (12) and Girl (8). The usual antic's. No elbows on table, eat your green beans. GD was princess for the night and she could do no wrong. GS kept getting caught teasing his sister Carlos made GS stand-up against the wall with his nose touching. We all laughted as servers passing by all NaNa NaNa Na Na to him. Fun night!

This pass October we got a server (can't remember her name ) that was a little flaky. We were there with DD and my 2 younger GD (both 8) DH got meatloaf, DD and I got fish (salmon and tuna) GD chicken fingers. Food was good this night. They wore their 50's outfits. Poodle skirts and shirts and saddle shoes. Everytime someone new was seated, server got them up and had them spin round and round. The 2 of them came out of there with big heads. They thought they were something. Fun night!

Return visits, adults (6 of us) Great server, lots of antic's. Good food. Don't remember what everyone got but all were pleased except me. Got the chicken and mushroom pot pie. A little too heavy on the thyne. Would not order this dish again. Fun night!

Return visit 2 oldest Grandchildren. Average server, not much antic's. Food was good. Pot roast, pork tenderloin, fried chicken, chicken fingers. Average night!

Will we return yes. Overall it's a fun place (just the scenery alone) with or without antic's and food thats usually good.

:) We went to 50's PT for a late lunch last October. I specifically asked for a "fun" server when we checked in at the podium. Well, she was VERY nice but wasn't all that fun! Not really a big deal - our food was good and the service was good.

DH had meatloaf, DS had chicken nuggets, and I had shrimp pasta. For dessert I had the strawberry shortcake type thing. I was so stuffed I couldn't move after that.

There were 2 tables of large groups near us and their server was much more in character. One of the adults did something and the server had the whole room chant "Whiney baby, whiney baby!" Pretty funny.

We are going back in August for dinner with our friends who have never eaten there before. I hope we get a FUN server!
