I am having problems getting booked for the CR as i can't get a garden wing and DH is thinking of the WL. Has anyone any experiences to share? Should I hold off to see if CR becomes available or should I book WL, decisions decisions decisions.....

As I'm sure you know, we absolutely loved our stay at Villas at Wilderness Lodge last April. I have never stayed at the Contemporary so can't compare the two, however I will say that the theming at WL is fantastic. Although it's massive, it seems really cosy and I can't say enough good things about it. The boat to MK was a great way to get there and the pools are good (although, again, I can't compare to the CR pool).

If you can't get the room you want at CR, I would definitely try the WL - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks Jo, I remember you guys had a wonderful stay there:) It really is a beautiful hotel we ate there a few times last trip too as we had friends staying there. :)

I think I will just go ahead and book then maybe if availability comes up at the CR I could do a split stay

I think I would jump at WL, I loved my stay there, so cozy and inviting, friendly CMs, a compact feel to it, homely wooden furnishings, nice pool area and hot tub with the geyser close by, a very quiet beach area, you still have boat access to MK and i never found transport a problem to anywhere else which i had been very worried about before. and for winter time/ near Xmas time then this is the resort to be in.
But what a nice choice to have to make:goodvibes

Thanks, the more I read the more I am liking the resort, it gets excellent reviews on Tripadvisor! When we get thier in Jan the Christmas thee will still be up. I did suggest to DH that we went back to AKL but he suggets we need to try something new! I am worried the kids will expect to see animals as the theming in the WL is similar to AKL!

Loved it.

The CR gave me a feeling of an airport hotel (sorry all CR fans, JMO) but WL is very unique!

With the lobby area, the 2 great restuarants, the pool area, beach are where you can watch the water parade etc ..... we really liked it.

Yes I know what you mean, I thought it looked a bit clinical! I really liked the look of the rooms though and the thought of walking to MK. I do think the theming of WL is better :)

Great news :thumbsup2

Maybe not giraffes or zebras but we saw plenty of wildlife when we were at WL - woodpeckers, rabbits, squirrels, ducks and really cute little red birds that we still don't know what they are.

Bit late to the thread as I see you have booked it but we stayed at WL for 7 nights in December......we absolutely loved it! You won't be disappointed. :thumbsup2
