Tell me about Wishblade

I think eventually a Wishblade system is what I might want to use. I don't scrap digitally but enjoy using my computer fonts etc. to enhance my scrapbook pages. Anyway, I have no knowledge of Wishblade systems but have been looking them up on Ebay.

Does anyone have experience, which system should I be looking at? How do the models differ from year to year, etc? What should I make sure is included?

Thanks for any input.

I'm wondering the same things.... I'm hinting heavily for a Wishblade for Christmas.

BTW, to the OP.... there was a good article about cutting systems in the August 2007 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine that might answer some of your questions. ......................P

I have the new pink wishblade that came out this year. I love it. I'm crazy about my fonts and I just love cutting them out. There is a lot of stuff that it can do that I haven't even tried yet. I did design my own birthday invitation shape and cut it out. It turned out so cute.

I think www.paperthreads.com may have a fairly good comparison about the wishblade and other such machines. There are a lot of choices out there in the computerized cutting world and you need to cxhoose the one that is right for you and what you are creating. They do take a bit of computer savvy especially if you have specific files you want to create and cut. There are tons of files available all over the web for minimal amounts to purchase and many files avaiable for free.

Michele,

I have a comparison of cutters on my site:

mydiecuts.com/project/viewer/96
or
mydiecuts.com/project/download/96/project_file

There are several things to consider when selecting a cutter, most of them having to do with the software you must use.

My general recommendation is that if you are price sensitive, go for the CraftRobo (the same hardware as the wishblade). At a higher price is the Klic-N-Kut, which has several time saving features and a wider range of materials that it can cut.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Dan

I have an old (purple) WB and I LOVE it!

However, do not buy an older one. They will not be updating the softwear so it will not work with newer versions of Windows. So buy the new (pink) version if you get a WB.

Also, I have heard the craft robo is supposed to be the exact same machine but cheaper, so if I was buying again now, I'd probably look more into that.

***The WB does have a HUGE LEARNING CURVE. It was not a small learning process and it was very confusing. Also because it's so confusing, I often forget how to do the things I wanted to do if I haven't used it in a bit so then I have to go relearn them. It is a difficult machine and if you aren't willing to spend the time with it, you will not get much out of it. I consider myself super good with computers so I had heard it was difficult but wasn't worried about it. But I should have been because it was hard!!

All that being said... I really love my Wishblade :D :D
