Well,Newfoundland ,along with Florida ,is probably my favorite place on earth to visit.....It simply has everything-friendly people,gorgeous moose,caribou,icebergs,and history.You name it......
The roads are very wellmaintained (better than in Nova Scotia),and you have a choice of ways to go............We prefer the North Sydney -Port Aux Basques boat as it's shorter than the one to Argentia,NL,and not as rough.......Or,you could fly,or take the boat from Quebec to St. Barbe
Some of my fave places on the Rock are:
Rocky Harbor(Gros Morne Park)
Rose Blanche Lighthouse (outside Port Aux Basques,an awesome B and B there);
Twillingate
Griquet ( a community near St. Anthony)
There's so much to do and see,but if you are into moose and icebergs,I'd suggest going in June,that's the best time to see them,before the moose go into the woods for the summer,and before the icebergs melt too much.The weather is very pleasant at that time of year............And ,I would highly recommend a June visit....
Next time,we plan to have our first visit to Labrador,can't wait....We'll take the ferry at St. Barbe there.Great food in Newfoundland too!And such interesting berries,like bakeapples,partridge berries,and the like....
You will have an awesome time,Newfoundland is truly like no other place on earth....
Any other questions,ask me........
Thanks for giving me the chance to talk about one of my fave spots on earth!
