Looking at Trails End and wondering if it's worth a try or not. Opinions?:goodvibes

This is a must do for us, can't beat their breakfast buffet for the price. the lunch menu has changed and we never got back then, guess it's more of a soup/sandwich deal but dinner is another of our favorites. We also go down stairs our first night and celebrate with our traditional pizza and pitchers of beer. Check out the memu/buffet offerings here or allears.

DH and I tried it for the first time in Sept. and really enjoyed it. We will be going back!!!

We're trying this for the first time in December...honestly, it's one of the things I'm most looking forward to!

We've done it for dinner and loved it! Good hearty food and you can't beat all-you-can-eat.

I feel better having booked a supper (but changing it to breakfast while we are there). How long will it take to get there from WL?

Quickest way from WL is to take the launch. The time it will take depends on how long you have to wait. The boat trip itself is maybe 15 minutes (guessing). The restaurant is just a short walk from the dock at FW.

We have had breakfast and dinner and have found the food good for the price. Nothing spectacular but one of the cheaper buffets at WDW.

we thought the food was fine - basic food but not a huge choice - the price was very reasonable
the tables are wooden and very close together -not much ambience:confused3

we felt it was okay but i doubt we would go back (we also thought just getting there was pretty involved - after parking the car we had to wait for a "shuttle" to take us over to the pioneer hall area)

I really like Trail's End. It's a little out of the way, and not as crowded and frantic as some restaurants. I love the boat ride over from MK, and one of these days will watch Wishes from the FW beach. I don't think the restaurant is especially good for childfren (i.e., there's nothing special for them to do) if that's a consideration for you.

I'll agree with all of those grades. And I like the system so much, I think I'll copy it and start using it for all of my restaurant review on the boards!

I have dinner at Trails End on every trip. It's a must-do for me, partly because of the atmosphere of Ft Wilderness, and partly because of the quality vs price combination - it's not one of those places where you'll have a religious experience in a meal, but it is good food at a reasonable (by WDW standards) price.

We had an ADR for Trail's End back in June, but we did not make it there in time. We had reservations for 1:50pm. We got stuck in a ride line for way longer than the stanby time suggested. By the time we made it to the launch and waited for the boat, it was 2:10pm and they were closed for lunch! They closed at 2pm, we had no idea that they closed after lunch, the CM never mentioned that when we made the ADR. So please keep that in mind if making lunch reservations.
