Tell me about Tony's at MK

I haven't heard much about Tony's, and I assume there is a reason no one has much to say about it. But I really like Italian and would be willing to give it a try. So who has been to Tony's, and how is it?

I've heard good things about Mama Melrose and I will definitely try it. I'm not sure about Tony's, though.

I ate at Tony's in January. It was ok. Not bad, not great. Ouor server was just ok, too. Again, she didn't do anything wrong, but also didn't seem totally on the ball either.

I'm like Italian food, but I'm not totally wild about it. i would eat there again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

This is a kid friendly Italian place. They have spaghetti & meatballs - which I'm ashamed to say I ordered. But OMG - the meatballs were good! We had also eaten in Italy in Epcot (which I think is closing). They were for a more adult palate. Tony's is fun. Ask to be seated in the main dining room. Lunch there is great. The dessert cart is really good too. This is one of the only restaurants in MK that makes my entire family happy (good kid stuff, bland stuff for hubby, and all sorts of things for me!)

We like Tony's a lot. I have been to Momma Melrose and we hated it! Food was terrible and service even worse. Actually both places get very mixed reviews. Of course neither is as good as my nana's Italian cooking! Funny how everyone's taste is different.

I didn't like Tony's. We had the DDP and they only let us choose from 2 specific appetizers (not from what was on the menu). The food was OK but no one in our party really liked it. Definitely wasn't anything special. The other thing that really bothered us was the fact that each of us could not choose individual deserts (like you can from other restaurants on the DDP). We had to take the sampler and it was one per family. We would've liked ice cream or something different than what they gave us...as what we got wasn't something we would eat.

When we inquired about not being able to choose from the entire appetizer list/dessert menu- we were told that on the DDP it's restaurant specific. the restaurants have the option of giving a family dessert or individuals. Same goes for the appetizers. To my knowledge- Tony's is the ONLY restaurant that does this. Not sure if there are others but from our experiences this is the only one.

It was just this past April. For the appetizers- there was a choice of either Bruschetta or one other thing- I can't remember what it was for sure. As for the entree- you could pick whateve you wanted off the menu. It was only appetizer/desserts that were limited. The dessert was a sampler of like 3 desserts from their menu....and it was pretty small for a family to share.

We were just really disappointed as at any other table service restaurant that we'd been to- as long as it wasn't a buffet- we were all given an appetizer (any from the menu- not just 2 specific ones), our choice of an entree, and our own dessert. I talked to the manager at Tony's before we left- not only about the food options but about the service as well. Our waiter was very friendly and polite- but the service just wasn't there. We waited like 25 minutes for a drink refill which to me was just ridiculous as we were seated right by the server station where they were filling drinks. Anyway- the manager said that on the DDP- the individual restaurants have the option to control which appetizers/desserts that can be chosen. Now in defense of the restaurnats- there's NOT very many who do this....but Tony's is one of 'em (or at least it was in April '07)

I had a bad experience at Tonys in 1998. I had written it off then, but last month decided it was time to give it another chance.

We ate there for lucnh and we were happy. Everything was good, not amazing or anything, but we ate it and like it. The service was fine too, no problems there. Actually our waiter kept bringing us extra sodas to have as back ups on the tables which was great the way we drink them.

The only thing I found odd was the size of the breadstick appetizer. There were 3. I would have expected at least 4. Luckily 1 DS didn't want any.

Had dinner here in March 2007 after a long hiatus. It was just okay for me - super limited menu and not really unique. We'll probably not return for a very very long while.

I was there in May and really enjoyed it. We were on the DDP and no limitations to what we could order. Each person chose their own appetizer, entree, and dessert off of the full menu.

We were there in May 07 as well and there were no limitations on the menu.

My mom ordered the soup of the day which was butternut squash - and it was one of the best soups I have ever had.

My dad ordered the steak which was very good.

The bread and spread they give you at the start of the meal was tasty - very different from other places.

Our server was good - meal was well timed, refills for drinks, etc.

And one of the best souvenirs from the trip - $3 for the lady and the tramp mug (my mom just got a diet coke but we asked about purchasing the mug and that's what the bill was for $3)

We love Tony's for dinner @ 7:30 PM or 8 PM on the porch.

Our DD ate Mickey shaped cheese ravioli's a few year back at Tony's. They were not on the menu Easter 2007. We asked our waiter. Tony's head chef came to our table, talked to our DD and asked her how many Mickey ravioli's she would like and what type of sauce. It made our DD's day.
The head chef even came our during our dinner and asked our DD if she like the Mickey ravioili's. Our DD is 12 years old (not a little girl).

DH, DW and DS had the NY Strip Steak. The steak was wonderful.

No complaints from us. We love Tony's for dinner.

We ate there last month--it was a last minute decision to try it and we were able to walk in and be seated for dinner (this was right at 5). I liked it! We aren't big on Italian food in general so I don't think we were too picky about it. I had the Spaghetti and Meatballs and enjoyed it very much!! We sat in the front room overlooking Main Street, I thought it was a great location.

We love Tony's for lunch and try to make it there once per trip. The kids are happy there and that works for me.

sounds GOOD to me! We have a ressie there for our upcoming trip. I was thinking of perhaps cancelling...but after reading this thread, will consider leaving it!!!

I've always enjoyed Tony's at lunch. Its a nice quiet place to cool off during the day and eat decent food. Its not amazing but decent. Better than most C.S.
