So I signed up for Give a Day-Get a Day, but I have an AP, so I am trying to find out what the Disney's FASTPASS® Special Exchange Cards for certain attractions is. I also read that I can apply it to the renewal of my AP, and since it expires the day we leave, I might do that!

Any info on rides it is good for?

Not exactly sure how it will work, but my guess is that it will be similar (if not exactly the same) to the Birthday FP option.

That was a special card that you would insert into the FP machines and get a FP with an immediate return time. The FP rides would be split up into 2 categories. You could only use the special card 4 times for 2 rides in each "category". The 1st category included the more popular rides (Space, Indy, Splash, Roger I think) and the 2nd category included the rest (Big Thunder, BLAB, Autopia).

So you have to pick 2 from category 1 and 2 from category 2. And it's good for up to 6 people I believe.

I read that the special fastpass is good for up to 5 additional people in a party, so does anyone know whether that means that for each person who volunteers, they and up to five people in their party can use the fastpass, regardless of whether or not they volunteered? Oh, that sounds confusing! I'm just wondering about my 4-year-old, who is too young to volunteer: we will have either 5 or 6 people in our group, so does this mean that the 4-year-old could be included and have a fastpass too?

Also, does anyone know if we have to decide right away after volunteering whether to take a free one-day ticket or a special fastpass? Or is it the case that we would just get a free ticket per person and could exchange it at Disneyland for a special fastpass instead?
Thanks!!

From the FAQs on the promotion it says, "... for you and up to 5 additional members of your party." So, the person who volunteers and up to 5 additional people in the same party will get the Fastpass Special Exchange Cards.

From how it is described in the FAQs, no. It says, after you complete your volunteer activity, you print a voucher that may be redeemed for your free ticket, then you take it to the ticket booth at the Park. Once you show your AP or other multi-day ticket, you can get the special fastpass.

So, I would conclude that if you have valid entry on the day of your arrival, you choose then what you want for your alternate gift. In fact, the way I read it, I don't think you would even have to have an AP or your multi-day ticket on the day you volunteer, just on the day you redeem your voucher. :goodvibes

Also if you are at DL for more than 1 day, and plan to use it for fastpasses, only cash in 1 per day (if you have more than one certificate to cash), because then you could use it for everyone in the party. You can get more days out of your fastpasses.

Disney Dreams and Lollipop's Mom,
Thank you for your responses! I wanted to check my understanding of what I thought I read, and you've confirmed it. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Yes, everything stated here by everyone is correct! I just got off the phone with a Disney Cast Member and for each person that voulenteers you will get fastpasses for your entire party!!! So we are so excited since 4 of us are voulenteering we will have a select number of fastpasses for each day we are at WDW. Also, the DCM confirmed that the program will be exactly like the birthday program....I also read other threads/posts on other sites that the b-day program depending on park capacity you could get to use your fastpass card for 5 or 6 rides or use it for the same ride over again. GREAT DEAL especially if you are going during peak season like us...in the summer!

Does anyone know if the special fastpass ticket is tied in to actual entrance passes, whereby there would be a set limit of how many of those instant fast passes one could have? (Let's say 5 in our family volunteer, so then we could spread out the fastpasses during the 5 days we would be in the park?) So then, 4 rides for each person in our party during a day, from one fastpass, would be instant fastpass access for each of the 5 days?? I don't know if I'm understanding it, lol.

Okay, I do not understand what you have explained above, but the way I understand the promotion is if you already have an AP or a multi-day ticket you can opt for the FP Exchange Cards as your alternate gift instead of the free ticket.

It can then be used for certain attractions (I did not see a list or quantity). You will receive 1 FP exchange card for yourself and 1 for each person in your group (up to 5 extra people - all of whom must be present at the time of turning in your voucher).

They are good only for the day issued.

Now, let's say 6 of you volunteer and you all have APs (or multi-day tickets). 6 of you go to DLR together for 6 days. Each day, one of you would redeem your voucher for the FP Exchange Cards. Everyone in the group would receive the card each day, which could be used that day only. The next day, repeat with a different person in the group turning in the voucher.

Now, my question is: Why is everyone so excited about FPs (which you can get anyway) and not excited about the Ear Hat figurine? Sounds super cute!

Hopefully I can help here.

If this promotion is like the birthday promotion we got these fastpasses on the 20th of December so they are pretty fresh in my mind. I don't remember what rides they are good for but the logistics are correct. I'll see if I can find a list of the rides somewhere.

If you have a multi-day pass or a season pass you can go into the guest services building to the left of main street. They will give you a voucher that you'll have to take to the kiosk where people meet for the tours. You will have to show them all your entrance passes for each person in your party. If you were slick about it you probably could get 4x the number of fastpasses but you might need to do it on separate days. Since we did the birthday fastpass it only worked on one day but if you spaced out your free passes you probably could get some for each day there!

At that kiosk they will take your voucher and print you out actual fastpasses. The fastpasses have your first name on them. For example we got them because they were for my dad's bday and his name is William so they said "Happy Birthday William" on them. They were not tied to a ticket in any way. All fastpasses for the family had his name on them.

The fastpasses come in strips of 3. There are two types of fastpasses I think one was Donald's favorites and the other was Daisy's favorites. Each person in my party got 2 strips of fastpasses. One strip of 3 for Donald's favorites and another strip for Daisy's favorites. So essentially you get 6 fastpasses for each person in your party.

Each individual fastpass on the strip has printed on it what rides they are good for. You do not need to put them into a fastpass machine all you need to do is go up to the fastpass return line and give them a torn off ticket from the strip for the ride. The person will take them if that ticket is good for that particular ride you are trying to go on. They do not check your entrance tickets or anything so anyone can use the tickets even people not in your party.

So since we had 5 entrance tickets we got 15 Donald Favorites and 15 Daisy Favorites. Since we had my parents who were not going on many of the thrill rides and my daughter wasn't willing to ride some of them my wife and I got to go on several headline attractions using the fastpasses my parents didn't want. We had several left over when we went for dinner and my daughter passed out because we were still on Texas time so we were done with the parks that day at 6p.m. so I gave the remaining fastpasses we had left to a family in the lobby of our hotel. I must have had 30 fastpasses left they were pretty excited.

Here were the rides I found on another forum attached to each type:
Donald's
Space, Indy, Roger, Splash, Screamin, Soarin or TOT

Daisy's
Thunder, Autopia, Buzz, MM or GRR

Just trying to figure all this out and this post really seemed to help. Just still a little confused on how many rides and which rides you get with it? Does it just depend on how full the parks are? If they are less busy do you get more rides than 2 on Donald and 2 on Daisy? Thanks!
