Do all of the pools have a deep end and a shallow end, or is there one that is shallow all the way across?

I have a son with autism who is not afraid of anything, and I would feel better taking him to a pool that doesn't get too deep.

Thanks!!:thumbsup2

well the quiet pools don't. they are about 3' deep.

but someone say the same pool was 5'. haven't done the main pool.

that say most Disney pools are designed so any adult (even ones who can't swim) can get in and safe a child.

Pop has life guards at all the pools. Just tell them your child problem and I am sure they will include him in their watch.

these life guards are special they only watch the little ones - and don't watch the teens and adults. will only say something to the teens when they are interfering with the little ones.

I have always been surprised at their concentration.

We only used the Hippety Dippety Pool at POP - and toward the center was deeper than the ends. I don't know the depth, but I'm 5 feet 4 inches and I believe I was tippy toed in the center.

I agree with PP, inform the lifeguard about your son. They will keep a special watch on him. :goodvibes

I know you know this fact - but I just can't stop myself........a child can drown in an inch of water, so the depth of the pool really doesn't matter. (ok, I'm off my soapbox)....have a great trip. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Oh, I'll be right there beside him the entire time. I don't leave his side for a second. I just want to ease my mind of worry!

Will this help?

Pop Century Resort Pools

Pop Century Pool Photos
There are 3 heated pools at Pop Century that are maintained at 82 degrees. The Hippy Dippy pool is 235,000 gallons and is the feature pool here. It is located near the 1960's buildings and just outside the food court and main lobby. The entire pool is shaped like a big flower with 4 flower showers on the pool deck that spray water into the pool. The water is deepest near the drains and shallow towards the edge. The Hippy Dippy kids pool is a zero entry level with fountains that shoot out from the center. The deck around the kiddie pool is padded so children are able to play carefree. Petals Pool Bar offers a selection of drinks and food, but no food or drinks are allowed in the pool. You will also find a ping-pong table here and a temporary tattoo station.

The Computer pool is considered the quiet pool and is located near the 1990’s buildings. This rectangular pool is shaped like a computer monitor with a huge spongy/soft floor keyboard deck located towards the back of the pool behind the pool chairs. The service buildings nearby resemble a stack of floppy disks and a central processing unit.

The Bowling pool is also considered the quiet pool and is located near the 1950’s buildings. The pool is in the shape of a bowling pin and the pool deck acts as the bowling lane, including the arrow guides in the concrete. The service building here is appears to be a bowling shoe locker bin.

There are no slides or jacuzzis at any of the value resort pools, but at least one pool will have some sort of water feature like a spraying fountain. All pools at Pop Century range in depth from 3ft to 4 ft 9in. Guests may use any of these 3 swimming pools during their vacation. There are showers, lockers, restrooms, and a laundromat at each pool area. The buildings that house the lockers and restrooms are also themed. Pool hours are from 8am - Midnight with lifeguards on duty from 10am-10pm (quiet hours are from 10pm-Midnight). All diaper age children are required to wear plastic pants or swim diapers for the safety of other guests. These can be purchased at any of the gift shops on property.

So at the deepest (center of Hippy Dippy etc.) it's 4'9"

Also, when we've been there, there has been beach balls floating around in the pools for guests to use. There are lifejackets to use at each pool.

Thanks to all of you!

Cindy's Mom, I didn't think you were being critical at all!! Thanks for the information!:thumbsup2

there is a "kiddie" pool that is for the smaller kids its located near the hippie dippy pool. more like a wading pool
