Which onsite resort has the best pool? I think I read somewhere that RPR has the biggest, but that is about all I know abou them. I have preteen children. Which would be best suited for that age group?

Thanks! :goodvibes

RPR:
Lagoon style swimming pool featuring a white sand beach and the following:

* Royal Bali Sea interactive water play area for children
* Two (2) hot tubs
* Beach volleyball court
* Private cabanas available for rent. Cabana amenities include a ceiling fan, phone, TV, a refrigerator with water, soda and a fruit bowl. Please call 407-503-3235 for reservations today!

HRH:
The 12,000-square foot sand beach pool also features the following:

* Underwater stereo sound system
* Interactive play area for children, including a 260-foot water slide
* Two (2) Jacuzzis
* Sand volleyball court

At PBH:
BEACH POOL
The Beach Pool is the ideal place for the family to spend the day together. Enjoy a Roman Aqueduct water-slide, sandy beach and relaxing in the sun.

* Adjacent children’s pool and play area
* Splendido pizzeria poolside service – pizza, sandwiches, and beverages
* Two Jacuzzis are located at the Beach Pool
* Three colorful Beach Cabanas

VILLA POOL
Offering more exclusivity with upgraded amenities and lounge chairs, the Villa Pool is the perfect place to relax for a couple of hours…or the entire afternoon.

* Two Jacuzzis are located at the Beach Pool
* 16 Cabanas are available on a first come, first served basis

My preteen (11 1/2) prefers the HRH pool to RPR. He's never been to the pools at PBH.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

I'm currently booked at RPR. We are only staying one night for the FOTL(parents live in the area) so I could upgrade to another hotel for just a bit more. Can't decide if it would be worth it though. We really like the RPR pool, but if the other pools were nicer we might consider the upgrade.

We have always stayed at the RPR because we love the large pool area and all of the seating available. My kids also love the pool there esp. DD16 because of the pool volleyball. Well, this year we decided to stay at the PBH because we were able to get a suite upgrade. I thought the kids would be all excited because of the nice big room I scored for us but instead my DD16 complained that she wanted to stay at the RPR because that is where all her friends were.:rotfl2: What friends!?!??! :confused3 You mean the people you played volleyball with last year???? Oh well, maybe someday I'll be able to please her and actually get a "thank you oh wonderful mom & dad for taking us on another fabulous vacation to Universal" :lmao:

HRH has a slide as well as a lot of poolside activities. PBH has three pools with the largest one having a slide as well. RPR does not have a slide.

For older kids, the slide might be a big attraction.

when you are a guest at the onsite hotels, you can pool hop.
it is encouraged.

take your hotel card with you to show at the pool area and receive towels there.
there are pool rooms where you can change clothes.

many guests visit the other pools all the time.
you are not restricted to just the pool at the hotel where you are staying.

Like mac said....pool hop! We always to at RPR, but we usually go to HRH at least twice and PBH at least once during our stay

Is the beach pool similiar to the Beach club at Disney or is it a pool near the beach? Does anyone have pictures of any of the pools at Universal?

look at the post above you.
good pool view.

i'm sure youtube has videos of the pools.

you can search the threads for the ones about the hotels.
many have pool shots in them, so do the trip reports.

My parents live if FL so we are only staying one night with one pool night. I have to decide if it will be worth it to pay a bit more for the Hard Rock and their pool. Does your family like th HRH's pool better?

(I've ruled out PBH because of the bathroom setup. We have to have the toliet and sinks seperate for our group.)

Oh, those links are perfect! You're right, I'll show them to the kids and see what they say.. Thanks!

Do these "pool rooms" have shower facilities...thinking I might take a late flight out on day of departure and relax by the pool all day? Would want to shower and change before getting on a plane though???

yes they do.

i check out in the afternoon from the hotel and store my luggage with the bell hops at the hotel.

i then go to the park for the rest of the day.

i return to the hotel, and freshen up before my car service comes.

i do a night flight each year.

do this:
pack changing clothes in a small bag, could be plastic.
tie that bag to the luggage handle when you check the belongings to the luggage area.

when you return from the park, show your claim ticket and have them bring only the plastic bag to you.

then go to the pool room and shower.

when you are ready to leave the hotel for home, pick up your luggage at that point.

you are given a claim ticket when you belongings is being held for you once you check out of the hotel.

Good deal. Thanks a bunch!!!! 8 PM flight (non-stop at that) will be booked :)

i love taking a night flight out from orlando.
never an issue for traffic to get to the airport.

best of all, more time to play!!

there are more people than you realize that use the hotel facilities after they have checked out of their room.

the hotel has no issue with the guests with that.

Ask your kids if they would rather have a slide or a water spray/play area. HRH has the slide, RPR has the water spray/play area marked the Royal Bali Sea (look for it in the pics below).

Here are some links with great pics of the hotels and the pools.

Thanks for taking time to share this link here. This will really help us decide where to go and stay during our trip.

Have a nice day. :)
