Okay so hubs and I love FW Cabins. I could go either way with Disney...if it's not broke don't fix it (stay at cabin again)...or why not experience all of Disney? I am considering the Poly. I know. Completely different animal that FW Cabins LOL We had two kids who will be traveling with us, they'll be 2 and 4 at travel date. How is the poly with toddlers? You can walk to MK correct? I like the idea of being able to sneak out of our hotel room and watch fireworks since I'm sure our kids (and probably husband lol) will be snoozing by the time they go off. Is there a playground at the Poly to play at? FW has a couple playgrounds we love. We do have a rental car so we can drive, but the Poly has a monorail to go directly to Epcot right? Sorry I am all things familiar with WL and FW but the Poly is completely new to me! Looking for any advice on its user-friendliness with toddlers. Thanks!

You can't walk to Magic Kingdom, but you can take the monorail there. You can walk to the TTC and take the Epcot monorail or express monorail to Magic Kingdom if you wanted. The TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center) is where you'd pick up the Epcot monorail. It only goes there and Epcot, it doesn't go to any of the hotels. You could also take the resort monorail around to there so you don't have to walk, it will just take a bit longer since you'll have to stop at the Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom and Contemporary first.

As FSU Girl mentioned, you can't walk to MK, but you can take the monorail there and you can walk to TTC to get on the EP monorail (or take the resort monorail all the way around to TTC and transfer). You will be able to see the fireworks from the Poly beach. There is no playground at Poly, but there is a gigantic kids' splash pad area with slides for smaller children (under 48").

Ooh thank you that’s good to know! We love splash pads:) however we are going in December so it may be cool but we are also coming from New England so I’m sure they’d splash in 50 degree temps LOL

They’ll love it! Pool is great, the decorations in the GCH are really cool, there’s the torch lighting ceremony, at night there’s a dance party and movie. You can watch HEA from the beach too.

You can also take a smaller boat to the MK from the Polynesian or walk to the TTC and take the larger ferry from there to the MK.
