Tell me about the Pin Trading Event

My wife collects Disney pins (she wears one EVERY DAY of the year) and I noticed there will be a Pin Trading Event while we're at the parks in March. What goes on at these? She likes doing a few trades with CMs, but is not into pins as an investment or to try to "upgrade" her collection by trading a common pin for a rare one. She's unsure if she would enjoy the Pin Trading Experience. Can someone enlighten us as to what they're like?

It is not really an event in March. The only true pin events that they are doing in 2007 are in September at Epcot and in November on the Cruise.

Once a month they have a pin trading night at the Contemporary Resort Hotel. Collectors will come with their pins to trade in one of the ballrooms. Occasionally, the pin team will do something "special" for a pin trading night. They may have a special pin that is released there first, they may do mystery pin trading, or they might have an area set up for the children to trade in. It is a little bit different each month. There is usually an area that showcases upcoming pin releases.

Certainly it might be fun to go and see what pins people have. People for the most part are friendly, but you might have to make the first move and it might be very intimidating for a casual trader unless you are very outgoing.
