I'm considering a Grand1 cruise during an upcoming trip to WDW. But, since it's soooo expensive ($400/hr), I'm a little apprehensive about going through with it.

If anyone has any experience with it, I'd love to hear what you thought. Also, I have these specific questions:

Is it a round trip, i.e. depart Grand Floridian and return to GF? Or can we be picked up at one resort and dropped off at a different one?

The booking voicemail says food and beverages are available. How simple or elaborate is this? I'm thinking we'd want happy hour before dinner, OR drinks and dessert afterward, but not a whole meal.

Do they book multiple cruises on one night? Or is one cruise the max per night, no matter how long or short? This could play in our reservation strategy.

Thanks. :boat:

We've done this before -- well, my dbf has done it twice and I was there once!

I thought it was fabulous!!!!

He went and got pizza for everyone and brought it onboard, and they had stuff for him to serve it with, not sure how that was arranged. How the beverages got there, I don't know, but there was a big ice chest full of beer and soda. I think he brought that on himself, too.

We had a sunset cruise with a guide who told us a lot about the ecology and history of the waterways. I especially enjoyed the peaceful Bay Lake portion of the cruise.

If you had a group to go in on it together, it would be well worth say $50 a person or even $100 because it's really a unique experience.

I hope if we do it again, we get another guide like the time I went before, because he really made the trip for me. If we were just sailing around without any kind of tour, I'm not sure I'd think it was worth $400. But then, I'm a big Disney history/behind the scenes nut.

We is the Wishes cruise on the Grand 1 and it was worth every penny! We were picked up and dropped off at the Poly since that was a better meeting place for all our guest. We arranged for desert and champagne thru GF Private dinning which was waiting for us when we got on the boat.
