We have never been and we have an ADR for dinner. I looked at the menu, but would love some descriptions from anyone who has eaten there recently. Thanks!

Most think it's great.
If you do a search for BOMA you'll see alot of threads that give reviews.

We love it. Interesting variety, very high quality for a buffet. Really great soups.

It's Boma, not Boma's

Boma is one of the best, if not the best, buffet on WDW property. The carving station always has two different selections to choose from. My favorites are the soups. They are all excellent. My kids favorites is the desserts. They can eat their weight in brownies and zebra domes.

I have enjoyed myself every time I eat at Boma. The soups are wonderful. Many delicious offerings. I also think they have good deserts which is not always the case at buffets. I also enjoy the atmosphere.

I've always said that a buffet almost never presents the best example of its cuisine. Boma may not be an exception, but it's pretty close!

When you go, I suggest being adventurous and taking at least tasting portions of a number of different items, even those that you do not think you would like. I did on my last trip, and was often quite pleasently surprised! And of course, it being a buffet you can always go and get seconds of your favorites.

That's what I like about buffets: I can try a little of a lot of different things, including some I would likely never order a full portion off a menu.

Boma has a wonderful variety of authentic (according to my South African wife) foods. Some of the tastes may seem unfamiliar to North Americans but that is part of its charm.

We went for the first time in December. There was such a wide variety of food. The carrot ginger soup is worth the trip.

They have a curry soup with tofu and green beans that is excellent, as is the fallafel, and lots of other interesting foods. Granted, I'm vegan, but there were also lots of meat and cheese options, plus the desserts looked fantastic!

We ate there last summer and oh, my goodness, it was just wonderful. I tasted a small bowl of each soup/stew offered (I think there were 3 varieties, and they change them out each night). I ended up going back for more of 2 of them, and I was stuffed before I even had a plate in front of me! The appetizers and salads are also really great (love the falafel with sauce on the side, variety of hummus and dips). I barely had room for mains or sides, but I was determined to try a small bite of almost everything. The desserts are also outstanding!

Enjoy!

One place we eat at on every trip. Would not miss it.

Go hungry! Try everything. Desserts are great!

We have never tried breakfast. Maybe next trip.

I am not a big fan of buffets; in most cases the food is more about quantity and not about quality and is usually nothing more than frozen servings shipped in off a Sysco truck then stuck into an oven or microwave for a few minutes and then slapped onto a heated water table for the masses to consume. Most of Disney buffets IMHO are no different.

However, Boma stands out from among other buffets. While I would not call it an outstanding culinary experience with incredible food, I would call it above average buffet offerings that have some very unique offerings that make it stand out from any other buffet in WDW or for that matter most buffets. I'd recommend it to anyone. :thumbsup2

We did NOT like Boma.

Before we went I had heard "how great it was" and "you have to go", and was told it was "spicey". Well ok, we like spicey. Spicey as in peppery - hot type spices. No one told me that the spices that Boma uses are all sweet in nature.
Cinnamon, vanilla and fruit flavors are found in EVERYTHING.
The meats (including the carving station) were all rubbed with cinnamon, the sides had sweet flavors, even the soups were sweet.
DH and I sampled every dish on the buffet that night trying to find something we liked and failed. The only non sweet items were the chicken nuggets and mac&cheese on the kids station.
Needless to say we left and was hungry and hour later and had to order CS.

We are not that picky and the food was fine for those who like their entrees to taste sweet, but for me I like my dessert to be the sweet part. Don't want my entire meal tasting like a holiday dessert.

That was our experience.

We didnt care for it because the non dessert items are heavily spiced with vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and other sweet flavors....I just like my dessert sweet not my meats and veggies

We at ate Boma last year and loved it. They had many unusual foods, and yes some of the meats had a sweet twinge, but not overly and it added to my savory experience of the food. The soups were rich and lush, and I had a salmon dish with some type of nuts on top that was superb. For a buffet is was not overcooked at all. The service was good and I found it refreshing. Not a typical buffet but had many standards as well as unique items. LOVED IT!!:cheer2:

Absolutely LOVE it! Although we go more for breakfast, dinner is an absolute adventure for the taste buds. Get the soup and the zebra domes! :thumbsup2

Count me with the haters. I liked the soup (don't remember it) and the hummus but that was it. Everything else had weird spices that didn't seem to me to go with the dish. Roast beef rubbed with cinnamon? No thanks. Even the apple crisp dessert was weird.

That said, I'm an adventurous eater, graduated from culinary school and all but I just didn't like it at all.

We love Boma and it is a must do every trip! This is the only restaurant we have to eat at when we are in WDW (so far anyway)! We did not find the foods to be overly sweet or weirdly spiced. I must qualify that we are vegetarians, so we obviously don't eat the meat. Some of my favorite dishes are: all of the hummus offerings, falafel, pap-which I ate with a stewed tomato dish last time. Sooo delicious! The also had a very nice tofu curry I ate. The soups are always very good as well. When at Boma, I try to taste as much as possible...as others said...even if it looks like something that may not appeal to me. I am almost always pleasantly surprised. :)
