Tell me about the Coarl Reef Restaurant please.

Once upon a time Coral Reef was worth it for me and perhaps will be again once DD is older but for the time being I skip over it. I'm a seafood junkie and love the food AND ambiance at CR. With a 2-year-old who doesn't like to sit still unless a character or princess is in the room though, we've skipped over it on our past 4 visits. Though mainly a seafood restaurant there are other options on the menu; I recommend the roasted pork chop!

We really loved it last trip- though it has been a few years. I love seafood and my husband does not. He had a steak and said it was pretty good. The interior and the tanks are just beautiful. It really kept our kids entertained (they were three and six last trip) while we were waiting for our food. We were not seated right near the tanks but could see fine- I think maybe even better since we had a braoder view. It was a highlight of our trip.

We had dinner here and enjoyed it very much. We all had seafood but we did see a gentleman at the table beside us having the steak. He seemed to really like it. :lmao: You should definitely give it a try. The only downside of Coral Reef is it is pretty loud in there.

We ate there in May and thought it was very good. I know they have steak on the menu. It is very pretty inside and watching the tank while eating is really awesome. Its not our absolute favorite place in Disney World but we would very happily go there again. They also have very good dessert choices.

We avoided this place for many years, but tried it again last year. Remembered why we avoided it.

You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Thanks everyone DH and I love seafood DD does not she does like steak and pork chops so we should be good if I pick this.

We each get to pick one dinner of choice for our 3 night trip, DD had picked Cinderealla's RT, DH has picked Spirit of Aloha....I am still trying to decide...Ugggg LOL

We LOVE Coral Reef. They have more than seafood, I always get the chicken. It's a must-do every trip for us!

Me and DH both liked it. I wouldn't say we loved it (we are NOT picky eaters so it takes a lot for us to love something. Even good food is usually just meh to us). Very fun atmosphere and we didn't have any issues!

We have eaten there 4 out of our last 5 trips. Loved it every time except the last visit my pork was way undercooked. I would try it again as it is very pretty inside, the aquarium is fun to watch and the food is usually pretty good. LOVE the choc wave dessert!

What are you looking for in your choice for a meal? If it's seafood, you have to go with Fulton's Crab House or Flying Fish. If it isn't the seafood, what is it? I would love to help!

We ate here last year as one of the few Table Service places we tried. Overall a positive experience, the atmosphere is good. Like the view of the tank. The food was nice here, although admittedly I am a man of simple pleasures.

I have to say this was one of the nicest (if not the nicest) steak I had on Disney property for my entire trip last year. My Mother had the fish & loved it, my Dad had the chop & enjoyed that.

Have booked to go again this year.

Yes sefood for me and DH but they also have to have other items DD14 will eat too

I have enjoyed steak and pork chops there. I've been there 4 times, and always had a good meal. I know it doesn't get the best reviews. But it's good enough for me.

I didn't think the food was fantastic...but i didn't think it was horrid either...except for dessert...that was horrid.

But i really liked eating there...the fish were wonderful to watch. but you can see the fish in the seas pavilion so i don't know if it is something i will ever do again. we didn't book it for this trip that is for sure...but down the road when the kids are older if they ask and we are on the DDP sure :D

We ate there twice last year, and were very happy each time. Some of us had chicken and some had seafood. Everyone was happy with their meal!

I've read a lot of reviews on this restaurant and have noticed that a disproportionate number of the bad reviews share one or more of the following characteristics:

(1) meal was late in the service window
(2) meal was during a high crowd period
(3) meal was not on a dining plan (and reviewer felt ripped off by the OOP cost)
(4) party size was either very small or large (e.g., solo diner or party of 6+)

I'll have a chance to test this hypothesis on a trip in early February. We are on the DxDP with a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids) and have an 11:30 ADR for lunch.
