We have all ridden Tower of Terror in the past. I like it. DW and DD not so much. So I usually just ride alone. But DD was saying that she'd like to go through and see the queue again and take the "chicken" exit before the actual ride. Can you tell me about that? At what point do you exit? At what point do you let a CM know that you want to exit? Thanks.

Ah the Irony of ToT Chicken exit. It's a elevator, no really it is... You just let the bellhop that is doing the loading know you don't want to ride. I'm trying to remember but I think it's the one at the far right as you look at the attraction loading.

They can go all the way through the queue up until the loading area at the elevators. All they or you have to do is tell the CMs they don't want to ride, and they'll be taken to a regular elevator to be let out.

We walked into the room with the elevators and let the first cast member know. The elevator down is right next to the ride. My dd was freaked out by the preshow and barely wanted to get in that elevator.

Thanks all. We did know it involved an elevator which is wonderfully ironic. They aren't scared of the ride anyway. They've done it several times. They just don't care for it.

We did it last year because DD decided she didn't want to ride. The (real) elevator exited us in the area where you look at the pictures from the ride leading into the gift shop. Easy peasy.

I prefer to call it the "Courtesy" Exit, as opposed to the "Chicken" Exit - as I am doing all my fellow ride-goers a "courtesy" by exiting - otherwise, I'd be getting massively sick on that ride, and it wouldn't be pretty!

I love the theming of the queue…so I use the Courtesy Exit all the time. As others have said, very simple and easy. :)

I may have to try this! Due to motion sickness issues, I have not been willing to try ToT but would love to see the queue.

LOL - when I went with my boyfriend on the ride in 2012 he knew before even going in he was going to take the "chicken exit". When we got inside, and the CM was escorting him out, the CM called it "the Elevator of shame", and we all got a laugh about that. :rotfl2:

I had to do the alternate exit for about five years after I broke my neck. Quite honestly, I think I enjoyed the attraction more when I took the exit. Everything is still there and waiting at the end and seeing all those riders exiting is really good. I've seen guys who looked like they were on a college or high school football team coming out saying "never again!" while a bunch of preteen girls were running around their parents screaming "let's go again!". That really did happen.

I'm able to go on the actual drop cycle now and every time I come off of the elevators, I look at those wait seats and grin. Sometimes I think about just coming in from the exit and sitting there and watching the people come off the elevators.
