This is wear we will be staying for Disney Marathon weekend!

So please tell me about the POSITIVES!

We are traveling with LLS Team in Training and this is our assigned hotel, so there is no option of moving to another resort. This is the only moderate we haven't stayed in so we are looking forward to the visit.

Thanks!

I suggest taking a look at the CBR faq's listed below. That should help you get excited for CBR.

It's been awhile since we stayed here but we have great memories of our stay at CBR. One of our favorite things to do was to get our food in the food court but eat in the area between the pool and lake. Another thing we looked forward to were the fireworks that you could see down behind the pool bar, if not from your room. It kind of became a nightly tradition to have a swim, a snack, then fireworks when we were "home" in time. We liked our rooms as well - we were originally in Martinique facing the lake and had a corner room. We love the double windows in that room! Later we added two extra nights to our stay and had to move but we were on a nice courtyard in the same section but even closer to food court and main pool. Both were very nice. We liked the general feel of the resort - it really felt like we were away from home and not in just some hotel. We loved the stroll on the lake to the food court/main pool. It was peaceful. Our kids also loved playing in the sand. Although you can't swim in the lake, you can use the water to make sand castles! The main pool was also great! The kids loved the slide and the kiddie pool as well. The food court was good too. It's the typical fair but we didn't have any complaints. We also loved the gift shop and the little store in it came in handy many times! I would like to stay there again just for old times sake! :flower:

We loved CBR. It was very peaceful and we really enjoyed walking the paths along the water, etc.

We had no problems with the buses or the quiet pools. I thought the main pool was a little congested at times, but my kids enjoyed it.

I really liked our room location as well...we were in Barbados and it was very quiet and pretty centrally located.

I stayed there three years ago with Train To End Stroke, when I did the marathon and I remember the beds being like Heaven. They were so comfortable that I meant to look at the mattress brand. The night after the marathon, I was in major pain and that bed was amazing. We didn't do much at the hotel. The food court was fine but quite a distance from our room - thankfully some of us had rented a car.

We love CBR!! Definitely follow Safetymom's advice and read through the FAQ's -- there's a ton there, but well worth your time, and you WILL be excited about it when you're done!

We loved the food court, the beaches, the hammocks, the boat rentals, the quiet pools in each village, and probably my favorite thing was grabbing my refillable mug in the morning and filling up with coffee at the food court and then walking the walkway all around the resort -- absolutely beautiful!

Bus transportation was really good, and we will return there for our next visit to WDW. Have a great time!

Just returned from CBR last night after 10 nights and we absolutely loved it!!

We were in Martinique building 23. It was the farthest building in Martinique from the food court but it wasn't too bad.

My mother made the comment that this room was cleaner than the hospital room I was in when I had my son!!

Bus service was fantastic. We never waited for more than a few minutes each day. They also have a great internal bus service and we used that quite a bit!

I think you will enjoy it!!!

We loved CBR! It was so peaceful. Our favorite things were the quiet pools and the gorgeous landscaping. We also really liked the outdoor corridors - we thought it made our room feel very private.

CBR is wonderful, peaceful and gorgeous! We stayed in Martinique Bldg 25 in April with a view of the lake. Perfect location for us - close to everything. I'm still amazed at how large the resort is - because you don't see a lot of people. Take time to rent boats, or bikes early on in your trip - (we waited until the last morning) but the kids liked it so much, they wished they could have done it again!

We enjoyed the CBR so much! You can read my *review* on page 32 of the CBR FAQs part 2 thread.

Hope you have a great time!

Another CBR fan here! :sunny: We've stayed there twice and loved it both times. I have pictures and comments on my web site. The link is below. :flower:

The Positives about CBR:

*Largest rooms of all the moderates (same size as the rooms at the WL and AKL).

*Privacy curtain between bathroom/changing area, and bedroom area.

*All rooms, plus the food court and sit-down restaurant, have been completely refurbished in the last few years.

*Beautiful tropical feeling to the entire resort, calypso music playing softly in the background.

*Promenade around the lake, great for taking daytime or nighttime walks.

*Soft white sandy beaches around the lake, including hammocks that can fit 2 adults, plus chaise lounge chairs, and beach chairs.

*The ability to view some of the higher fireworks from Epcot each night, specifically from the Main pool and pool bar area, the Martinique beach, and the Trinidad North beach.

*Main pool, kiddie pool, food court, shops, and sit-down restaurant are ALL located together, and in a central location.

*Beautiful grounds full of tropical plants, Spanish pirate's fort themed main pool and kiddie pool.

*Each "village" has their own large quiet pool and laundry room.

Is there room for a twin sized Aero Bed? My kids are 8 and 13, boy and girl so they can't sleep together. We last stayed at POR with a trundle and that worked well. We would like to try CBR.

Just got back last night from CBR. As far as the grounds are concerned - I didn't want to leave!! It was quiet, beautiful and clean. The rooms were decorated beautifully, clean, and as stated before, the beds were like heaven. This past weekend, the buses left a little to be desired. It's a huge resort and you must leave a little extra time to get around. Return buses from the parks were prompt and adequate for the number of guests. I would definitely go back. This was our first time at a moderate. We've always stayed at the value resorts and wanted to try something different. So glad we chose CBR!

This sounds wonderful--I hope the reservation sticks. We were told this is the assigned hotel for us, but I don't get my paperwork until next week with the official declaration. The other option was Coronado--but that is an option for the administration--they place us where they want to place us and us athletes don't get a say! It's too bad b/c our victory party is at Coronado and I was diggin' the idea of being in close proximity and not having to deal with our charter busses...but looking forward to trying out CBR for the very first time. :)

My Dh and I stayed at CBR a number of times and have always loved it. It is spread out but I think it adds to the quiet. We love staying in Jamaica. It actually is a nice walk across the bridge to the food court. We love feeding the ducks every morning. WE also watched Illuminations at Port Royale - not the same as being in Epcot, but was nice to put my feet up with a glass of wine and not fight the crowds. CBR is so close to Epcot, I would love to cross the street and enter Epcot at that end. Hopefully you get CBR - it will not disappoint. :sunny:
