We are considering going to Disney for Thanksgiving 2008. It will be the first trip for our then 17 month old grandson. It will be myself,DH,DD,DSIL,DS,DDIL and hopefully another grandbaby by then. We would probably do a 2bdrm and a studio. How crazy are crowds? My DD and DSIL are both teachers so it would be the only time they'd get to see the Christmas decorations.(DSIL also coaches high school basketball so Christmas vacation is out)Thanks!

I am also a teacher, and I love Thanksgiving at DisneyWorld. What I like to do is go the Saturday before Thanksgiving Day and stay til the Friday after. We are out Wed, Thur and Friday of Thanksgiving week, so I use my two personal days for the Monday and Tuesday of that week. Crowds are very heavy from about Wednesday on, so we leave Friday after T'giving Day. The weather is perfect, and usually, many Christmas decorations are up. Even with the (sometimes) heavy crowds, it's not so bad since the weather is so nice. Wonderful time to be there.

WE love Thanksgiving week. We have been twice....and are going again this year. Our kids get off M-F of Thanksgiving week...so we arrive on Thursday the week before the holiday. SO yes...we pull our kids out of school 2 days. SO we get to enjoy the parks the first several days before the masses of people show up. AND THEY WILL. LOL When it gets to about Tuesday you will see a big crowd difference...but with good planning you will have a great trip. We leave the day after Thanksgiving and we usually don't go to a park on Thanksgiving day either. IT it not hot...it might be a bit chilly in the evenings but we love that time of year with the decorations and all. Go for it...you won't regret it. Have fun.
